Long time no post! Been a while since i last made a thread on here alas life has been quite hectic with work, recently getting engaged and getting the truck and myself in some order for our first truckshow appearence (Thirsk & Newark!)
I’ve been contemplating on doing a little diary to get back into the swing of things, as the next investment of mine shall be a laptop so i can do diarys like these and keep my Photog/Diary skills in check…so further or more lets crack on.
We start in our Knottingley depot, Monday 5am bound for Coca Cola at Wakefield Junction 41, loading for Asda Washington This was my truck Friday as I didn’t mind of doing the diary this week,

We pick up an empty trailer and make our way across to wakefield in good time, to join the never ending que that is Coke. I finally get through the gates just after 06:15, where i drop my empty and pick up my loaded one. If only it were that simple…
The empty bay i was given had already had a trailer in its place, so I drop the empty in the next available bay and ammend it on the gate pass. I get my loaded trailer, check the pallet count 25 and around to park up and await my notes. Where an hour after giving my gate pass in to wait my notes i get told to go see the office, there’s more pallets to go on, i go round to be told I’m going with what its got on
I finally get out of there for 07:30, alas my booking time was 0800. So i start heading up the A1 and inform the office when they came in to inform Asda it was going to be late.

I get to Asda just after 0930, where im told I’m straight on after another one of ours is tipped. Result!
At 1100, im finally away from Asda and been given my next assignment. Reload out of Seaton Ross with a load of Turf at Rolawn bound for Orney near Bedford. Nice little run that, landing us in Seaton Ross just after 1300.

I get out of Seaton Ross just after 1530 as i needed 30 minutes to give me a clear run to Orney with a pitstop required at Chesterfield on the way down for Diesel as was running a tad lower than normal. 370 litres and we were good to go!
We arrive at Orney in good time not hitting much traffic on the way down, just after 1900. I have to say what a scenic place this is, Ive only done this drop twice (this being the second time) but both times the scenery just blows me away so peaceful. Days like this i gladly say shove the office jobs where the sun don’t shine

I get tipped for 1940 as the forklift driver here doesn’t mess around, managed to get a picture of their lorries here quite impressive i thought. I get told i can park a few hundred yards from where i tipped where I gladly did.

Parked up, 10 minutes before my 15 hour day was up and in a beautiful location too. Days like this is why I love what I do. 9 hours off and we’ll pick up where we left off. Bound for Whittlesey for a load of bricks destined for Edmonton! The load is anyway!
Part two to follow.
Cheers
Jonny
