…aren’t necessarily moths! This is a first for me.
I found a dead bat down the side of my battery box as I dropped my trailer one Sunday morning after a mad dash back from Italy, I tossed it into the lap of the young lad on the fork lift, we called him Fat Phil and tormented the life out of the poor lad, anyway, I threw it from the left side of the forklift and he tried to escape from me, which meant climbing over the levers to his right, given his ample girth this was not an easy task and he was screaming like a little girl as he tried to get away.

too much road kill, I would limit all vehicles to 40 to give wildlife a better chance. I would also ban all traffic for the hour before sunrise when birds eager to get a start to their day are fooled by vehicle lights and fly out.

Nice to see your thinking of the animals.
Ken.
Maybe this is why people call me an old bat at times but I love bats. Yes I am batty but they are beautiful creatures. I cannot believe that a grown man is scared of one of these tiny. mammals. I’d rather kill a truckie than one on those lmao
Actually splatter a big moth the other night green gunk all over the windscreen and yeah it takes forever to wash it off
Twice in my driving life I have had bats hit the mirrors at night, wait till you find one of these monsters on your door handle LOL.
Over 6 inches long with nasty pincers for jaws.
Moths and the like are so yesterday…driving along minding me own and hit this… Dafuk is that all about…never seen anything like it before, anyone any ideas??

There is a joke here that last week would of been funny, now it seems crass.

I completely agree with this, I live rural and love nature, it is the one thing that keeps me sane…I do actually keep my speed to 45MPH in the early mornings to give nature a chance…I just hate to kill anything, human beings though, too many of them, wouldn`t bat an eye Human beings are an altogether nasty species of life that eat everything else of a lower intelligence, I simply cannot wait for a higher intelligence species to stop by one day
Have I missed summat?

Nowt to do with poke ya mam…
Compared to the 80/90s does anyone think there is a lot less insect splatter on the front of vehicles; I seem to remember at this time of year any front facing surfaces would be caked in dead insects that would be difficult or nearly impossible to remove. I don’t seem to think that happens now, or at least happens to the extent it used to. ?
One of the best insect splats in this country is the Lightning bug / Firefly screen strike, it bursts green luminous liquid across the front windscreen before it slowly fades away … Always startling.

It might sound silly, but vehicles are not as square, and with the curves being more aerodynamic … Insects seem to flow over the vehicles. Which is a good thing, and I agree fully we need to do more to protect wildlife.
