This years plan

Not posted for a while but im still here. Had a mixed 3 months of my new career with a stint at bidvest and also the knowhow group franchise but slowly getting there. Hope everyone’s had a good new year.
I start the airport long term contract this month driving class 2. The contract ends in October but with a bit of luck they will keep me on. By the end of it I will have had my licence two years and worked for one. Not a big driving job as such but lots of maneuvering/reversing ect. Training wage for the first month then come summer apparently theres a ton of overtime which im hoping to be true as pay is not amazing on a flat wage. After 40 hours its time and half so I need the overtime lol. its a 5 on 3 off pattern with early -mid - late shifts with set start and finish times. In theory I should be able to work at least one of those days off each week and still get 45 hours rest.
whilst im doing all this I I plan on taking my ADR this year, just something I fancy to be honest. Any links on where to start learning whats involved or training course recommendations i`d be grateful. Am I right in thinking I have to renew it every few years■■? if so is this at full cost?? Are there different levels ?
all things I Will be researching now but any help appreciated as always.

That airport job sounds really good! Well done for getting it.

How did Bidvest go for you?

Is the job with Alpha LSG by chance?
The agency I signed up with are organising an assessment drive for me on class 2, delivering food at Gatwick Airport. 5 on, 3 off. 40 hour weeks. Paid training for 2 1/2 weeks before you’re let lose with a truck. Low initial 3 month hourly rate, if I want to stick with it after 3 months, the hourly rate gets bumped up. Free food and drink provided as you can’t take your own etc.

Does anyone have any experience in this? The agency made it sound a bit too good…

I’m also interested to see what people suggest regarding the ADR as that’s on my radar to get sorted sooner than later also

Hi Biker!

Here is some info about the ADR course, but before you consider it, it’s probably best you have a hunt around your area as to whether it’s worth it. It was a no brainer for me, but I do live down the road from a refinery…
