Just a thought does it apply in scotland?
So…who feels like they’re life is complete, now that they can go ripsnorting through many a country road*? . Me? Never been much of a speed freak (get there when I get there blah blah) so not fussed if they change it back to 40 in 12 months!
*mind the Stags and other large Deer…they can make a hell of a mess to a big, shiny SuperGigaGlobeXXL cab!

NO
the word that the SNP struggle to accept
bald bloke:
Followed a Tosco wagon today for about 5 miles on a nice stretch of single carriageway he managed 45.
Wow, driver needs buying a drink, well done:lol:

Then he mounted the curb taking a left turn up to the old Severn crossing, maybe the speed
or excitement was too much for him.
I hope you got a picture…
Funny you should say that , I asked her indoors to take a piccy of the sign as we passed coming southbound on Sunday. She used my phone. I wanted to post it here.
It was a good shot of her left eye and ear in the pic !!!
Good doctor definitely…with no common sense at all or ability to use a camera phone.
Trucker8oy:
Could someone please post it on here when they see a supermarket wagon doing the new 50mph
I was behind a white van man and a tesco wagon in front at a red light yesterday on a s/c. When the lights went green we all got up to speed, the van stayed bang on 40mph, the tesco wagon shot off into the distance, def up to 50mph.
I was confused as to what the f was going on.

I was heading back from Basingstoke depot on the A33 just before midnight on Sunday…wound it up to a dizzy 52 from Stratfield Saye and stayed there till I hit the roundabout at the top of the by-pass several minutes later…can I take claim to being the 1st in the UK to legally hit the magic number?? I felt such a [zb] superstar and even went in early tonight to brag to the others!
ACTROS MAN your my hero
Dipper_Dave:
Took a bit of a chance at a roundabout though as I tried to straighten the road out using all the lanes, may have dropped to 45 unfortunately as I got that feeling in me arse when you just know the limits of ones trailer stability have been reached. Sure I will get better with practice.
no you cant Dipper you need a set of these if your gonna do that
to all the hooligans out there that are now peddaling to the metal at 50,could you please slow back down to 40 when you see the paddys coming up behind you and sit at your usual rolling roadblock 40.my toys hooked up for 64mph and when im now passing someone doing 50,then it seems to me that im going much slower that i used to be when im overtaking them as it takes a wee bit longer now with you doing that extra 10mph.even running on the hookey paddy cheap diesel then i dont want to be opening her up anymore as 64 is just a nice inconspicuous speed for me to blend in with the rest of us over here.it makes no diff on the 75 as its always been a flat out hooligans convention there anyway, but for the rest of england then it would definately help if you could show us trip money boys a bit of consideration when were lit for our respective boats at various points across the country.it would be a major contribution to road safety if you could be aware of this, and also possibly save your mirror /elbow coming off in the proccess.just a heads up from the boat boys…thankyou in advance chaps…

Cheers Bro…I felt all tingly when I got back to the yard! However…coming back along the A4 early hours of Friday morning (as the M4 was closed E/B 14-12 again), all was good from Hungerford, sat at bang on 50 to Speen, out through Newbury/Thatcham etc and had a near miss with the milkman turning into the Berkshire Arms…guess he thought I was ‘miles away doing 40’ and had plenty of time to make the turn. I say ‘near miss’, there was enough room but on another occasion, things could’ve been different. Give it a dozen or so fatals involving Joe Public where ‘speed was a factor’, it wouldn’t surprise me if the powers reverted back to 40…how many cyclists are gonna cop it now, when pulling across from the nearside to turn right at the last minute?

i thank you, though its a really serious request…apart from t boning milkmen and kadunks(cyclists).who will still relate to toscotrundling 40 mph juggernauts, then for me ,the more important question would be,what about all the poor birdies who are tuned to flying off the road when you approach, there still all tuned to 40 and itl be carnage for a while till their radar retunes. i know it wont be such a problem for the crows,as they can shout out when the cars coming, but there not so good when they try to shout lorry, hence the ensuing splatter…
I never thought of ‘the wildlife’! With all the extra meals laying along the roads now (Pheasants & Wood Pigeons especially, as they gotta be the dumbest birds going ) Fox numbers are gonna either rocket (more grub, readily available) or plummet, as they will be to fat to scarper after gorging all night

I dunno , you should try Bristol on a Friday night
Followed 2 tescos along the A 47 on thursday, never went above 40 until they got to the dual bit that is.
