hi drivers

Im thinking to get a tractor unit.Wanted to know how it is to have one? moneywise?expenses?earning?
I think having ur own tractor unit its more profitable than working 4 someone else.Always wanted one.
would like to have some advice/tips from u guys.thanks in advance

Probably better posting this in the owner/operator forum.

I had my own unit for years on European sub contract work on port to port, where the freight forwarder sent my loaded trailer unaccompanied on the ferry.
The costs are high, from tyre blowouts, mechanical repairs, fuel and fines for offences on the road .
Applying for an Operating License, you will need a transport manager and if hauling Adr , a DGSA is required .
Then GIT insurance, road tax, wages, truck depreciation, and vehicle insurance .
A garage do do the inspection maintenance, or do it yourself, the rent on the premises where you park your truck .
Will the locals object to it, advertising costs to apply for an O license .
