Thinking about giving up indicating

ETS:
If i have one of those super annoying ‘CAUTION! VEHICLE TURNING LEFT!’ systems installed (combined with a nerve-wrecking continuous, high pitch noise inside the cab apparently intended to remind the driver to check n/s mirror) I only use the left indicator if really, really, REAALLLLY necessary

Re: others doing it? Honestly the way some people indicate at roundabouts I’d prefer them to not indicate at all

We’ve got them. The in cab things are useless because they go off at everything, so you tune them out after a while. If they’re the same as ours there’s a volume control on the actual speaker thingy.

Evolved:
I just pull out now infront of people who don’t indicate

"Sorry mate, didn’t see ya "

Then give them a nice happy wave as they scream at thier windscreen

I also do that and was also told while doing my class 2 training, its not your job to guess where they are going!!!

If you really want to wind them up concern troll them. Stop, open the window, look concerned, point, and say “Sorry mate, looks like you’ve got an indicator bulb out. Probably want to get that looked at.”

Haha! Might attempt this one day

"Hope you’re ok sir, seems your car is faulty… "

“No indicators is an MOT failure you know”

Here on Bribie Island in Queensland, I was reminded of this thread yesterday. A beemer came round a roundabout at a sensible speed and using the indicators properly. I was so stunned that I forgot to get the number and congratulate the driver in the local newspaper.

This story’s made up isn’t it…

A Beemer… indicating… :unamused: no chance

peterm:
congratulate the driver in the local newspaper.

They wouldn’t believe you.

Oh I saw a lorry doing everything correct on a roundabout the other week. Strange how lorry drivers never notice when a lorry driver makes a mistake but they notice everything a car driver does wrong. Oh I forget we are a cut above and never make mistakes.

Ah c’mon Jake, be fair. This forum is full of posts referencing idiotic lorry drivers. I’m at the stage now that when I encounter a lorry I’m convinced that he’s going to do something stupid, it’s just the manner of stupid that varies.

Just seen a skip truck not indicate…

Typical class 2 drivers

I have noticed recently a lot of ignorant lorry drivers that do not either aknowledge you when you flash them in or move over lanes on a motorway whilst they are traveling down the slip road to let them out. Quite annoying really as it doesnt take much to aknowledge the gesture. It really is road manners.

Trust the snake to get as much ‘bad professional drivers mileage’ as he can out of this.

What is the acknowledged signal for thank you? Just go mad with your indicators from side to side for five mins?

In the good old days it used to be a couple of flashes of side lights which to me was far less confusing than some of the indicator nonsense that goes on nowadays.
Of course a lot of modern vehicles now have lights on all the time.
Just try not to confuse some of these dumb car drivers with the indicator dance.

Ain`t that the truth…
Jake expects high standards from truck drivers.
Maoster is convinced we are all crap…

Jake is the one getting criticised?

If you do L-R-L signals, you confuse car drivers. If you do 4-way flasher, you confuse everyone as they might think you’re about to brake to a stop; if you do nothing you ■■■■ off proper drivers - what do??

Exactly [emoji23]

I am comfortable with a L-R_L of indicators as it shows a grattitude. I am equally happy with a thumbs up out of the window, It is also quite comforting when another driver simply waves as you overtake him after letting him in, I cannot stand the numpty that speeds up whilst you are overtaking him who you just moved out for and then you get stuck in the middle lane, that really is annoying. I may be getting old and having old fashioned ideals but I rarely get upset just think some drivers are now ignorant.
