Sorry is this has been covered but seen loads of threads on things to take when tramping!
But what stuff should you carry when just on days!! Don’t wanna be taking loads as you don’t wanna take 2 trips across the depot with mountains of stuff!!
Often see day men with small holdalls so what do they carry!?
I think if you have to ask what to put in your bag for working a local dayshift, then it might be a good idea to buy a Walkman and a set of headphones so you can listen to your pre recorded tape…itl go like this…breathe in…breathe out…breath in,breath out…breathe in…
I don’t carry anything anywhere near as exciting as Roymondo.
Sarnies
Drink
Instruction book for the Tachograph (in case I get in a muddle making a manual entry or whatever)
Spare Tacho rolls (just in case when i’m driving a different motor)
Tablet for using Google maps/Streetview for the strange (made up) addresses on the run sheet
Headache tablets (for the above)
Satnav
Specs
Plasters
I think there’s a pair of socks in the bottom (god knows why)
I think that’s it. No condoms needed with a day cab

I was answering the OP’s closing question “…so what do they carry?” The list of stuff in my own bag is much, much shorter

the socks are a must have in case you break down somewhere and have to spend a few hours on xhamster awaiting recovery,if your doing some middle lane gridlock totty watching,or if your on a different dudes truck and don’t want to leave him trying to sleep on a large map of Ireland shaped cornflake the next night…(obviously if your a limper then these rules do not apply)

I know I’m pretty new to this but am I the only one taking in a chisel cut permanent marker pen to write my phone number on the backs of toilet doors?
No. But it doesn’t go in your day bag amateur!
It goes in your pocket so you are never without it in the toilet!

Rookie mistake!
I write the Beaver’s number on toilet doors, and as he reads this he’ll be worried, as I actually do have it!
Bugger, he’s got mine as well!
I’ve just got a Porter job at well known kitchen n bedroom place (Best not name drop). I was advised to take multi screw driver in case bulbs go. And own first aid kit as they all get nicked by agency staff… so apart from the usual woman stuff I’ll have to bring a Dolly trolly plus a rucksack. [PERSEVERING FACE].
Bum n pit Wipes and 7 the shirts bcos I’ve been told I’ll sweat carrying the fitments about.
I’m getting some sound advice on here. [WINKING FACE] condoms? No I have a padlock!
