They aren’t that bad, I’m driving one at the minute and I can’t complain its much better than the stralis I was driving previously. I’m living in it for 2 weeks at a time and it’s a high line not a topline but still can’t really complain.
■■■■ ME another waste of time thred moaning about ■■■■ all the reason the cat walk is on left could be its on the curb side so your not getting on and of into the traffic ■■? climbing down steps is hardly a big task, two fuel tanks is a real problem and a reading light is hardly the end of the world try tramping in a "B SERIES ERF " with RR 265 and then you can moan about lorries .
Dont want to sound "IN MY DAY ITS WAS ALL ROPES AND SHEETS AND ALL THAT " but it wasnt that long ago if you had a Globetrotter or a 143 scania you were very very lucky or you were on euro work ,drivers today moan like ■■■■ if ther not driving a all singing all dancing mega cab.
mine needs it because its a manual box not a ■■■■■ auto
B SERIES ERF
lol i woul;d love to see some of these drivers in one of them, id liek to see them change gear
True mate very true not knocking the new stuff but ■■■■ me moaning about 2 tanks
The thing is when i got the be B series i was over the moon first regular motor and it was plated at 36 ton and i got an extra £10 a week for the extra responabillity bet half on here never know about the 36ton weight
This was my first regular unit ,try getting dressed in this ??and iam not the smallest thing in the world 6 foot 3 and at that time was about 17 stone and on the weights having a space cab was unheard of in big fleet
mine needs it because its a manual box not a ■■■■■ auto

He is talking about the semi auto in the Scania. Let’s be honest here, Scannys are 20 years behind the rest, but there are still plenty of muppets paying a premium for them so why should the Germans change it.
they must have the worst seat/seating position of any truck on the road, last time I drove one regularly I ended up at the chiropractor that cost me a pretty penny then was offered one 3 year’s ago said I don’t like them ended up with daf xf much better then 3 week’s ago daf in for mot ended up in a skoda bad back within an hour scrap the lot of them time they learned its been a major problem for year’s
M.A.N are a much better truck apart from the limiter 54 or 55. there is no point of the clutch in the scania just to set off and stop, it is a waste of leg movement also the mirrors are poor. and the stupid box in between passenger and driver.
I am a Scania lover, but the only thing i would say with a 6 legger after some k’s on the clock the auto box would have a long pause between gears so when you went to pull away quick the gears would change at the wrong time …
I dislike Scania think they are over priced & overrated
Apart from the seat being uncomfortable
The clutch on the auto ( I call this a hybrid as it is not sure if want to be an auto or manual have driven both hate equally )
Hate the auto gear box
Why not make it a bit longer so you can have a proper bed instead of doing a jigsaw every night
What is with the engine mount now
Why is the lack of leg room ( ok I know I am not the tallest but really )
NP with 2 tanks ( fuel can only be stolen from 1 really if you think about it as 1 will alway be road side ) you can use any side of the fuel pump when filling up dont have to worry
Why have the light on the catwalk where it is as at night when you connect up you happen to stand in front of it
Why is there lack of 12/24 plug you can reach ( ok the stralis has less )
On a lot of models they dont have an arm rest unlike most other motors
give me the old erf twin splitters any day, mind you in the winter you would freeze your balls off with no night heaters etc
it used to take 10 mins just to warm the engines up and the super defrosters in those days was a scraper or a bit of plastic or anything else you could find that would get rid of the ice from the screen
but when the engine warmed up it was heaven getting out of the cold and into the warm
why do i look back at those old days and miss them compared to how its all improved today ?
Blimey, someone has a bee in their bonnet. As far as I can see none of those things are exclusively Scania, and many can probably be explained by bosses buying poverty spec trucks. I tracked round Europe in Scanias for 5 years and never had any problems. You’re like a load of many old women at a WI meeting
There’s nothing wrong with them !!..apart from the " keep-fit " drivers window in the ones they use at a company i do agency work for !!
i was told it was to save a bit of money …but they all have half leather seats in them !!
