thieving [zb]

i am aware that it is a very slim chance , but on saturday afternoon my son had his caravan stolen off his drive . it is a hobby 540 uff , possibly the only one of that model in this country . i know the chances of finding it are minimal . the thieves were a middle aged man and two younger men in a silver rover , a neighbour saw them but didn’t call the police . if it was the [zb]travellers i suppose we can forget it , but if any of you should see anything helpful feel free to pm me . one feature is the front window which is a narrow wedge shape , and it is a 7ft 6inch width , not the 8ft 2 inch as used by the travellers .thanks , dave

I’m afraid that Hobby caravans are the make most likely to be nicked Dave, a ready market for both them and Burstners. An aquaintance of ours had his Burstner stolen from outside his home in Brighton while he was loading it up for their first outing, it was found a few day later dumped on the perimeter road at Heathrow with the front end smashed in! Scumbags the lot of them but they are easy pickings I suppose?

Pete.

yes it’s a bugger pete , it can’t be sold on in this country as hobbys have a unique logbook and it went straight on the stolen list , also ports of exit are monitored . but if it’s on a traveller site the police won’t even try to retrieve it . whoever took it i hope it catches fire with them in it . dave

Apologies Dennis f , it is sometimes hard to control the anger at times like this , they just returned from a break and all their personal stuff was still in the van . I usually watch my ps and qs , dave

I’d suspect most people would not realise hobby’s had a log book and may buy unsuspectinly . Hope it’s found
