iv’e got an audi a6 57 plate 3.0 litre quattro, s line, le mans, goes like [zb] off a shovel, and i really dont give a [zb] what anyone thinks, its a great car, probably the best one ive ever had.

Just upgraded to a 2017 rs3. 2.5 litre turbo charged monster. 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds. Out accelerates almost anything this side of £150k.

Apparently.

I pootle to work in it rarely going over 30!

Come to think of it, that probably puts me in the “conscientious” bracket. I didn’t get the car to show off or hoon about in, I got the car because it’s a bloody good car.

Ha, why pay all that money? Buy a motorbike for 5k that’ll blow your 150k car off the road.

Somewhere in between the car and bike… I have a supercharged Ariel Atom, with 0-60 in 2.6 seconds, oh and also have a mapped M4, lowered on KW Clubsport coilovers. Just need to enjoy these toys while we still can

Superb, an Atom, more akin to bike acceleration. Would love a go in one. It’s not the V8 is it?

I tend to stick to twisty country roads and tracks so reduce my chances of meeting the bad ones.

No jake, my car didnt cost 150k. It cost considerably less in fact. It is actually a good deal faster than car that do cost 150k is what I meant.

Closest I’ve come to an ariel atom is the aerial on the top of my house!! Got to say though, cracking cars. Arent they honda engines in a tubular framework. Lots of fun, until you need to go shopping! One of the few cars that cost the same as mine but will beat it off the line. Apparently, obviously I’d never do that sort of thing.

No, its the naturally aspirated Honda Type R engine with the supercharger attached. Produces 310bhp, but weighs less than 500kg, so 600bhp per ton. As a bike rider you will clearly appreciate how vital weight reduction is. Far better than having a heavy boring 4 wheel drive system understeering like mad at every corner… ‘Night Owl’ lol… only jesting sir, just can’t let an Audi driver think their car is match or as much fun as a powerful rwd BMW. Think I have a 3.9sec 0 - 60 on the Awron gauge in the M4 (tuned with circa 500bhp). Must remember to grow up one day. Pop across to M3cutters for some real BMW/Audi banter on that one though. Ps enjoy your car, it’s truly amazing what performance they can get out of modern vehicles these days.

Ps Regarding the V8 version. Chassis No1 has been for sale at the Ariel factory for a year or two now, think they started off wanting over £200k, last time I looked they’d dropped that ambitious price a little!

After spending all day in a Scania, I drove home in my BMW.

On the way I home I flashed or waved out seven cars driven by southern asians. Mix of Hyundai’s, Toyota’s, Nissan’s, BMW’s and Audi’s, only one of them thanked or acknowledged me.

I also had 3 cars pull out on me causing me to slow down, also driven by Southern Asians.

Also came across several nob heads driving like a ■■■■ who were indigenous.

Point is discriminating about someone because of the car they drive is just about as boring as discriminating against someone because of where they come from.

 no worries fella, theres a couple of tame BMW drivers at our place. The banter is all part of the fun. I must have a couple of dozen bmw/audi memes that we’ve sent each other. My favourite being: Audi stands for “Another Useless Driver Inside!”

I do remember seeing an m4 competition(?) driving about. That was a very nice piece of kit. A cars no good looking the part of it doesnt sound it too.

Thanks for the info, don’t really know anything about them apart from they look great and I bet they are great fun. I would imagine being open to the elements (like a bike) and close to the ground makes it even more exciting. Always remember Jeremy Clarksons face when driving one on Top Gear.
Have driven a good few quick saloons (on a track) but my main passion has always been motorcycles. Anyway take care and ENJOY.

It’s definitely a certain German makes thing rather than status. If I’m out riding my bike there’s only ever generally four groups of pricks who think trying to start a race with a super sports motorcycle is a good idea. It’s BMWs, Audi’s, Porsche’s and Boy Racer hot hatch merchants. Never had anyone in a Tesla behave in the same way despite being better equipped and rare for proper super cars to behave in a similar way.
