There Must Be Money

…in it.

Just seen an advert for the AA (not the alcohol one) to provide Driver CPC courses at various centres across the UK. When did the AA show an interest in HGV/LGV/PCV training in the past?

Call me cynical but it just shows that it is purely a money churning and making exercise.

The course fee (£69) does NOT include uploading the course attendance record to the DSA!

More shysters fleecing the working members of society.

How does that work then,i thought the whole point was to get the card uploaded :frowning: :frowning:

I believe they charge an ‘admin fee’ for passing on and uploading the details of the module taken to the DSA. I think they are trying to cash in on the perceived ‘last minute’ rush to get qualified.

I take it you saw the ad in one of the MSA loos?

I saw it in Donington services today, while I was, erm, washing my hands.

They seem to be able to use a lot of football grounds for teaching.

Ken.

I was chatting to one of the other regular agency drivers yesterday who tells me that one of the agencies (Milestone) are running DCPC courses within their offices at Bawtry, using a subbie to do the instruction, but are only charging £40 per module. He said there was around 20 drivers in attendance at that course

Apparently an agency near me is charging it’s drivers £60 a session, the instructor turned up, in his car window an advert DCPC for £39 a session. There all going directly to the instructor in future.

Shysters!

Yes thats right. Rent a space and run a course for max money. The thing that made me really laugh was the extra fee to tell the DSA you had attended a bonafide course!

Only in this brave new world.

Melmerby training, Ripon do £500 per day at your venue max 18 students (!) punters , trainees ,pupils ■■? Whatever you want to call em.
That works out at £27.70 a head and they upload details.
