There is luck out there after all :D!

FFS Carryfast! What exactly IS your problem?

I joined the (then) RCT at 16, turned 17 and did my bike, car, class 3 and class one test within a 3 week period, got posted to Germany and started driving Antar tank transporters at 17yr old.

It wasn’t luck, it wasn’t “face fits”. It was what I signed up to do. Simples.

Have you ever taken a moment to look at yourself and wonder if it’s you the problem lies with? I may be way wide of the mark but you come across as such a victim, a poor put upon victim at that. It’s always someone else who was in the right place at the right time wasn’t it? Nobody likes a whinger at the end of the day.

People in asylums apparently think they’re the sane ones, it’s the rest that are mad!

Yea a used my MOD90 card to go abroad no need for a passport!

Anyway duty calls just had my phone call wemberley in the morning from royston to pick a load up then somewhere to drop it of not sure yet though haha!

 I was RLC driver but also transferred to infantry the main reason I joined the forces was because my fam are military mad but also I wanted the licenses I used them as much as they did me! Dunno why he finds it hard to believe that we can join and shoot people but can’t join and drive lol. I really enjoy this though as a job I’m back in tonight tramping for the week !

Blimey there’s no need to put me up for the firing squad or a dishonourable discharge on mental grounds just for questioning something which seemed too good to be true. :open_mouth: :laughing:The army was never one of the options for me anyway as it seemed to me to defeat one of the objects of being in the job in having less management to contend with than working in a factory not more.BUT.I did know of some who did take that route and that’s what THEY said having been there not me.Plenty of drill,bs,etc etc and more chance of getting a posted to get blown up in Ireland as a footslogger than of driving anything.Like the OP you were obviously one of the lucky ones who’s face fitted. There’s nothing wrong with putting the case for the bad side and pessimistic view of what it can be like in the real world to warn anyone who jumps into the army or even this job as a civvy that sometimes if something seems too good to be true it often is.As for me no I’m not whinging because as things turned out in my case it all could have been a lot worse. :unamused:
