Wondering if someone is able to shed some light on this for me please: we have a driver who is 18 years of age, and as he is below 21 and wants to complete and use his LGV C license it is mandatory that he does the Initial CPC Module 4.
He took his theory tests last week and passed the multiple choice and hazard perception tests. He did, however, fail the CPC Case Studies (mod 2).
My question is this: is he still able to complete his practical training and test, despite him not passing his case study theory?
I know that he will not be able to drive at all (even for non commercial use as he is under 21), however just wondering if anyone would be able to help. He has received his theory certificate in the post having passed the first two tests.

No idea on the DCPC thing but why will he not be able to drive at all? My son passed his C and C+E at 18 and has been using them ever since, 4 years now.

Because he will not have a Driver CPC - this is mandatory for anyone under the age of 21 regardless of whether they are using it for hire/reward. I passed by C, CE and D aged 18 & 19 and had to achieve CPC for both, even though I do not use them to drive professionally (my daily duties are not driving as part of a job).

Not quite right …
A driver under age 21 doing a LGV C course does not have to take and pass initial driver cpc unless there are going to drive a LGV C under the age of 21 be it privately or commercially after the test
Private LGV driving = Many under 21s pass LGV C but only drive LGV C1s until they are age 21 so no initial dcpc needed
Commercial driving - all LGV drivers must have driver cpc

Yes - that is what I was trying to explain You put it across a bit better than I did, though.
Thanks for clearing the initial question up too - appreciate it
