Good afternoon all,
Is the first CPC now part of the theory test or is it done on the day of your Cat C test? I’m somewhat confused! [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

If you have a C1 entitlement already then you will need 35 hours of periodic training. This is normally classroom based but, depending on your choice of trainer, it’s possible to get cpc credits from your normal driver training.
If you don’t hold C1 already, you will need Mod 2 (case studies test at the theory test centre) followed by Mod 4 (practical demonstration test at the practical driving test centre).
Either way it’s IRO £300.
Hope this helps, Pete
All these are needed to drive a LGV C commercially if only got a car licence
They are all separately booked tests but the 3 theory tests can be done on the same day (many do that) and the 2 practical tests can be booked on the same day (not many do that)
Modules
1a theory
1b HPT
2 dcpc theory
3 practical road drive/reverse
4 dcpc practical

If you are going for LGV C then why not find a company that is approved for dcpc practical driver training hours

Im gonna give C1 a go first to see if Im any good at it. At 53 I might find it hard to adjust to truck driving after 25 years as a cab driver.
