Theory/Hazard Perception Materials for Class 2

Hope you’re all enjoying your Sunday.

I received my provisional licence back last week. It took longer than it should because the first time they returned it they had put someone else’s photo and signature on it! I wasn’t even angry - it was funny - just a shame the other guy was more handsome than me!

I now feel I should crack on and prepare for my Theory and Hazard Perception tests.

Please can someone point me in the right direction on the following:

  • What is considered the best study materials for the theory/hazard tests AND where can I buy them from?
  • Is there study material available for the CPC Case Studies test?
  • Once I’ve passed the CPC Case Studies, can I put in for the Practical Demonstration part of CPC?

I hope the above makes sense. Simply put, I want to prepare and enter for all relevant Theory, Hazard and CPC tests, so that the only thing left for me to do is book and pass my Class 2 course/test.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

The above thread just about sums it all up.

I did it the same way as you - got all my tests out the way then straight onto practical and did the mod 4 before I passed my practical. It was done one morning in the same week the practical training. Nice and smooth process all in one

I don’t understand why people or training companies don’t do it all together rather than passing the practical then waiting a few weeks for the module 2 and module 4
Good luck

Cheers Jonny

I agree, as you can drive on the pass certificate alone as long as everything else is in place, but some employers may want to see it on the plastic licence due to their policies… It’s also worth noting that a young class C passer may/will not get a CPC card issued until they pass the practical, where those that already have C1 entitlement, will have their’s issued as soon as CPC training is completed.

I think that’s right, I’m sure ROG will correct me if needed!

Hi, I used this lot for the first round of LGV Theory and Hazard Perception:

welwyn.theorytestpro.co.uk/dashboard

Well worth every penny, and I like how it keeps a ‘dashboard’ of how youre doing and percentage of questions answered etc, really helps you track your progress, sadly they dont do anything for the CPC Theory which is a shame.

For the CPC Theory/Practical Im using the LGV Theory website (follow the link that Jonny put up, very helpful), though its very basic compared with the first one, I`m thinking of signing up to the “Driving Theory For all” one as well.

I think a lot do. I just had it in my head I wanted to get the “main” stuff out of the way first, then sit the CPC crap once the pressure was off

Nice to see my links are of some use. A word of caution with regards to the hazard perception. At the test centre they changed over to CGI clips. I got a bit of a shock when I used practice websites that only offered a few cgi ones and the rest were filmed (badly at that)

I used this for theory and hazard perception:
amazon.co.uk/Complete-Theor … ption+test
And this for CPC Mod 2
drivingtheory4all.co.uk/publ … er-CPC.htm
Passing both first time.

I booked my Cat C training including mod 4 + exam for CPC after I passed the theory tests but before I passed the mod 2.

My Driver Qualification Card (What you get when you pass both CPC Mod 2 and 4) took just over 2 weeks to come through the post and my licence took almost 3 weeks to come through when I passed my Cat C. I done the Mod 4 exam on the same day as my Cat C test

Some really good info here - Cheers guys - I’ll be out on the roads soon!

I did my pcv hazard perception and theory today. No intention of driving a bus but want the licence for going forward in my job.

Must admit the HP side of it I was terrified about. In my practice sessions I was seeing the hazard to early and missing the points. So I had a little read on here last night and did as someone said. I sort of double clicked on most things. It’s also true that it does go slow and the CGI is very clear so it is hard to miss the hazard to be honest.

Today on 15 clips I got 5. 2 clips I got 4 and 2 clips I got 0 so probably too early as I was pretty sure I saw everything
