Them on-call 7 n half tonners .... (Bridge hitting numpties)

… Do they come with height markers in them? Or are they driven by numpties?

Weve got 2 low bridges next to our place, a 9 foot summat and an 11’6.
We have our rigids low so we can get under the 11’6 as we go through everyday, but as per usual you get some drivers who follow the sat nav and not the road signs.
Friday an OnCall wagon blocks 1 of our yards as he can go through the 9foot summat, turns around and heads for the 11’6, I am behind and beeping my horn trying to get him to stop as I can see he’s gonna scrape the bridge, he gets to the bridge, stops, creeps forward, I beep my horn in a frenzy then he carries on, the roof catches the bridge, he stops again, then goes forward and scrapes his roof on every girder,
Absolute nob, the guy then just cleared off with no regard for his wagon or what damage he could’ve caused,

What kind of ■■■ hits a bridge?

I see loads of drivers that slow to 2mph and just wait for there truck to hit the bridge  :unamused:
surely its easier just to check your height beforehand then your able to do 56mph under the bridge then

On-Call=Comet. I used to drive for them. He will/should have a camera in cab, that records incidents.
He’ll be hauled before his TM before too long when the report comes back.

A LORRY got stuck under the bridge beneath Churchill Way this morning. Shoppers leaving the Waitrose car park had to avoid the Oncall lorry which got jammed under the bridge at about 9.45am.

The driver deflated the tyres to lower the height of the vehicle so he could drive it away. The road was clear by 11am. Police were called and the bridge was inspected but no damage was caused.
