Hi there,
Does anybody have any info on the Yearsley group.
Thinking of enquiring for a driving vacancy.
The trucks always look smart and there is a depot 10 mins from my front door.
Thanks in advance…
Which depot?
I’ve worked for them in the past and found it a good job. Was miffed when I was made redundant as they were cost cutting and the most annoying thing was I continued to work there full time on agency for the next 3 months.
Money was decent and the job very easy, well it was at he depot I worked for.
I did a bit on agency from Heywood depot and job was fine, some delivery points were a pain in the harris (butchers in Swinton…) but mostly not bad and the delivery people were always nice (unlike brakes, 3663, et al).
There was no jobs going last time I enquired. No idea on wages due to being on agency.
talking to old mate the other day, done agency for them out of grimsby, said it was alright
July Press Release
Yearsley Group has bought a 200,000 sq ft facility to expand its operations in the Midlands.
Yearsley, which is based at Heywood, Greater Manchester, has bought a depot on the Hams Hall Distribution Park, Coleshill.
The group said the new cold store would complement its existing facilities in the region, including another depot in Coleshill, which is at full capacity.
Managing director Harry Yearsley said: “We are actively looking to grow our business and we have been looking for an opportunity in the Midlands which would give us greater storage capacity and support the strategic aims of growing our food sales division and servicing a larger retail customer base.”
Yearsley, which has 12 depots nationwide and fleet of more than 300 trucks, recently began work on a £20m expansion of its Heywood base, a scheme which will generate 150 new jobs.
It’s no good down here. Easy it might be, running from Gillingham to Coleshill but the money is basically northern wages made into a national payscale.
Sorry bud, that don’t work in the southeast!
It’s a shame too, cos they are the nearest truck depot to where I live!
My missus used to work there, and basically it’s work for truckers in their final 10 years… before retirement, not their lives although come to think of it…
