These weekends come around quick.
Home early this weekend, and wife had coffee ready for me from her new (and as I have just found out too bloody .expensive
) coffee machine.
.
(She has a ‘‘way with her’’ of persuading me things are acceptable and fine bless her heart.
)
Changed into me ‘house clothes’ (shorts, flip flops, football shirt
) maybe catch up on a bit of tv, then Cumberland sausage,.eggs, beans and chips for supper, then a couple of cans watching ‘Match of the day’’ later on.![]()
Tomorrow….my youngest daughter has been suggesting for a while having a day out with me, dinner,.drinks (then Newcastle game kicks off at 2pm)….so if she’s still up for it, job sorted.
Play rest by ear, no supermarket trip this weekend (thank christ
) got a delivery slot the wife tells me….hope she’s remembered to order the Guinness.
may even take her out for her dinner during weekend if she has……lucky lass having me eh?![]()
Snowfoamed the car this afternoon & hoovered/cleaned the interior, Just finished & put back in the garage before the heavens opened again.
We’ve had 2 heavy showers in the last hour
I went out for a bike ride in the bright sunshine…
…no need to water the pot plants now.
I’d be more worried about the foam
What’s the graffiti on the glass ![]()
Foam?….It’s a ‘‘head’‘ man, it’s bitter…. a proper drink, not maidens pi55…..![]()
Cider indeed.![]()
![]()
How very dare you…
The top part is my status in the family, …the boss, the ‘‘Alpha Male’‘….(like that big Gorilla off David Attenborough’s programme.
)
The other bit is a fine football club I’ll have ya know..![]()
Yeah if you like cider why not?
Last time I had a pint was on the Lizzard Point in Cornwall, the farmer I delivered to let me park and took me down the pub…. ‘Old Rattler’‘ not for me but you should try it, strong stuff, or it seemed so to me.
Farmer drove us back with 5 pints of it on board
…to my 1,.
I couldn’t handle another, so I tried the local Cornish Ale.
I first had a go at drinking cider in my teens when it was fashionable, but didn’t really like it and it gave me terrible bloody headaches the next day.
Then a few years ago the flavoured Kopperburg (Swedish?) cider was fashionable,….yeah it was ok, but I’ve always been a beer man, my Mrs used to like it.
The Ruddles in Spoons is around £1.70 a pint, and it’s as good as any other bitter, but lately I’ve been drinking a bit of Guinness and I just go between the 2 depending on what I fancy.
I used to love Bitters & Guinness & drank them for many years, but I started getting bad guts & bad headaches the day after, a few of our clan are Celiac & I thought it might be something to do with that, My older brother said try cider, so I went on that & never have any bad reactions from it.
I used to go down to Cornwall on a regular run tipping at Co-Op stores back in the day & came across a table outside a farm with 5 ltr jugs of cloudy cider with an honesty box. I bought two jugs of it, but back then if I’m honest I wasn’t keen on it.
It’s coeliac , and I’m a diagnosed sufferer 2018 also have 2 cousins and a aunt all female I’m only male
Rarer in males .
Never liked taste of lager or bitter any way
Ah right, I thought it was something like that, My brother & sister & our daughter have it & can’t eat bread, pastry, pasta etc.
Yep , I miss a good shirt ruiner jam doughnut ,
Time for a bottle of HW
I’m just contemplating having a G&T, I bought a bottle of Greyson’s London Gin & some tonic water at Aldi last week, It was only £11.99 for the Gin.
