It seems every big place employs a least a few full time risk/compliance/H&S managers. Now, what do they do when any risk of a drive off is eliminated and everything is covered with hi-viz? Now, unless they want to get caught at their desks playing soltaire for 8 hours a day, and it’s clear they are now a waste of a salary, they will go and find some other ‘risks’ to defend us from. And now matter how ridiculous. So there was I signing out at some huge place near here and I can hear a shirt and tie management type talking to the guy on the security desk, and he’s talking about how to minimise the TERRORIST threat to the RDC! So Osama is sitting in a cave in Pakistan and thinking what to hit next; Golden Gate Bridge, 10 Downing Street, and big military base maybe? Ah, of course a distribution centre in Kettering!
