hammer:
Tar gang trying to get every last drop into the pan even though theres about 3 tonne left in it.
“Forward a bit.
Back a bit.
Forward a bit.
Back a bit.
Forward a bit.
Back a bit.
Forward a bit.
Back a bit.
Forward a bit.
Back a bit.
Sod it! Drop down driver! We’ll get you in next time!”
Could have told you that about 2 mins ago ffs!
Or in the ‘old days’ when they would fill the pan to overflowing and then wind so much through that the machine wheels were spinning! “Come on drive, reverse hard into the machine to try and knock it back” (yeah, right ) or " can you pull us out with a chain fastened around your rear axle" (again not a chance in hell) Oh the ‘good old days’.
Altitude…just for the record…i hate and have always hated frilly curtains, i never hide behind anything or anyone, except the missus
I have in the past, only ever been on tippers, and bulkers, on muck away, or landfill, ,on 8 leggers, on 16 wheelers, no push out, scissor tippers or single and double rams, but used the experience only as a stop gap in between jobs, as i felt my experience as a class1 driver was way beyond anyones expectations that i could remain in that industry.
I wanted a job that i wasnt afraid to tell anyone where i worked, or what i actually did, so being away from the muck and filth and dirty muddy, dusty trucks, allowed me to fulfll my dream job, of poncing around in a nice clean truck, nicely dressed, good money, with lots and lots of goodies placed around the cabin, such as : TV, DVD, Laptop, Fridge, Kettle, Coffee maker, Cooker, Satelite dish etc, etc, I wont remind you of the countries i have been to, and got paid to do so, but i did all that, and have never taken a driving test, except in a car ( 1963 ) in a 1958 ford anglia to be precise, but the question is " does that make me a better driver than anyone else" kinnell it does"

You had all those goodies in the cab truckyboy, but you still have to crap in a carrier bag What I can’t understand is blokes saying they have TVs etc in the cab,but they haven’t got the most basic thing everyone needs…a toilet. They have them in caravans. Why not in a sleeper cab, then again seeing how some of the big lads would get into one of those would be a laugh .
Cheers Dave.

Maybe you should invest in some curtains, if you need to hide from the missus I have driven all the same things as you. but was never afraid to tell anyone where I worked, looks like you were slumming it a bit with just that kit in your cab I have also been to quite a few countries, the same as a lot on here ( there are a good few that say they have ) but Im sure the only water they have crossed is a bridge over the Thames I took my car test about the same time as you, but I did take and pass a class one test, so I’m not one of those that say they have one and have not. I don’t slang tippers off as I started on them then came off them for a few years as it suited me, I’m back on one now as I want to be, years ago my old man always said the bigger the lorry the bigger the fool driving it with todays traffic I’m begining to think he was right. As for the better driver bit… don’t know about that, I get cut up most days and it’s rearly by a tipper, and we all make mistakes, but there you go that’s life on the road.

You could have set yourself on fire John if your lunchbox is like Linford Christies .

One of the worst things is getting so called trampers who don’t know their way around the country. Then they start holding tipper drivers up. As tipper drivers are naturals at finding and accessing difficult places, this can be extremely frustrating. As well as ■■■■■■■ one off …
started doing a bit on the tippers recently,tarmac/nights mostly, not done bad so far but dispite my best efforts theres one part of the job i cant grasp and thats “the mithering about what eveyone else is doing, or where they’ve been,or even where they going next”
can anyone advise “how long will this take, or will it all fall into place given time”
