Yes I know…but hey we get to see old trucks.
Some of them got a really ■■■■ deal driving those old 3224 cargos’
Always loved the growl on the Mercs.
To be fair in my view the firm was quite good then and I enjoyed working there,
It’s a far cry from the joke of an outfit it is now…
The trucks were much better looked after than they are now and when the EE invasion started they never looked at them until about 2006/7 and then the firm grew and grew
and seemed to get out of control…

The rot set in when William and Tinkler wrestled the firm from Edward. I read that he died quite young & broke
Tinkler started off there washing the trucks, and it didn’t take too long for him & William (school mates) to get the company off Edward.
The company now is a pale imitation of what it seemed to be 20 years ago.
At the showground where the Wurzels were playing, almost to the end of the song, the video shows what looked like a very young Mark Dixon selling merchandize .
The financial director was called Roger Dix .
Lovely mullet by Neville, not one hi viz , no kittens died, nobody run over .
In the can factory, it looked like drivers loading their own trucks using fork lifts.
He was paying 14 days holiday when everyone else, virtually, was on 20 days. He was brilliant! For Eddie…

They were both wearing hi viz vests at CCE Wakefield.

I believe under Edward Stobart the Company was struggling and losing money, duty rumour was it was building Crick had overstretched them.
Afterwards I believe Edward Stobart had taken over Boalloy, which was also struggling, but he didn’t save them and that lead to the bankruptcy?
Stobarts were slagged off 20 years ago, some of the stories doing the rounds then were.
Norbert Dentresangle flew his helicopter to Stobarts head office to tell Edward “If he ventured into Europe, Norbert’s would come to the UK and take all Stobart’s work.”
It wasn’t Stobart’s money but the Mormon Church that bank rolled them.
The depot a Magna Park was full of Bibles,
Stobart’s had gone into administration, (that was every week)
Stobart’s moved goods for free, just to get the warehousing work.
In the meantime, Omega Securicor had come in and taken a lucrative contract from the bloke I worked for, but of course I’m sure that’s just another rumour as only Stobart’s did stuff like that.
