2nd is a holiday as well and as it falls on a Saturday this year which don’t count it’s carried forward until Monday. Simples

It’s because they have 1st and 2nd as New Year bank holiday.When a bank holiday falls on a weekend the days are taken from the following week to compensate.IE Monday 4 th in lieu of Saturday 2nd.
My Birthday falls on a Sunday that Year. Does that count too?
it’s quite simple really , very few scots would be in a fit state to go to work on the second after the hogmanay celebrations , so the scots being sensible just declared it as another holiday . dave
