Updated Scania for Euro 6

I might be being a bit thick here.
But what’s so special about that as opposed to any other Scania?
I like it, purely because it hasn’t really changed at a quick glance.
Just the one thing wrong with it that I can see…it’s a Scania.
New engines, gearbox and more
I’m also being a bit thick, as I remember this as a Streamline…steps completely covered to aid aerodynamics
they have removed the sticky out corner wind deflectors and changed the sunvisor
whooopie doo

Still much more prettier than the square box on wheels that is a DAF

who rattled your cage?
i was going to say gate, but we all know that you don’t know how to work them properly
running out of marketing ideas in my opinion so reusing an old name that they hope might rekindle a bit of the old time love. wonder when the streamline centurion will be announced?
Any prizes for recognising the location.I’ve put my application in for a job as a demo driver for Scania sales. The Croatian coast road would have been an even more dramatic location.
Another fine creation.

not always a topline, i had 143 centurion with streamline kit but it was the standard flat roof cab
Like the idea with always capacity lefter in the batteries to start the truck. Just wonder if it works with the heather as well or just the cabin toys.
Sadly they have made a more complicated ride height remote + the seat controlls look like they gone backwards. Also wonder how clean it will be able to keep the side windows without the holes on the grill (the idea of the design)

ive never heard anyone refer to a 4 series as a Streamline/non sreamline before!
This is an original stramline (and i was the lucky bugger who drove it from new!)
and this is the same model, but not a streamline
Scania have a problem, that much is obvious!
They need to design a vehicle that has room, driver comfort and aerodynamics, couple this to their capable engines(well nearly…Common faults are still expensive to repair) And they will have it cracked.
They cant build a decent gearbox, the drivers seats are woeful, to the point that I can
t believe no one as yet has taken out a law suit against them
If they addressed those simple points, they would have a decent vehicle…Seems they are still a long way from that.
I drive many different brands/marques of trucks and I am not impressed with Scania in the real world…The only thing they have going for them are turning circle and a decent stereo/speaker syatem…The rest is utter pish.
Give me a DAF XF any day…I can sort out my own tunes on my own system and plan for the ■■■■ poor turning circle
SCANIA need to get with the programme…
Not that much changed, tbh i probably prefer the look of the front corners on the current R series. A few new power ratings on euro 6 though, 440&480 become 450&490 and 500&560 become 520&580, no mention of the higher power ratings. I wonder if the new V8 power ratings will use the modular engine design and all be the bigger V8 like the 730, or any bets on the new top rating? R760?.
