The result of a drivers card check

Here in GERMANY in the month of JANUARY this year
along the A1 was a vehicle check carried out, in this
check a 38 year old german driver, who was driveing
a truck with the new system fitted ,had his card
checked out and after the data was downloaded
and checked found to have committed a total of
"“50"” offences, he was given a summons for
these offences, (driveing,rest time);and will
therefore be appearing before a court to account
for the above offences, SO be warned the
german police force and BAG do have the
required equipment to check your card,

I would have thought that the Krauts if anybody would have the means to read the cards.

After all they will take money off drivers for just about anything now.

One of my drivers got fine €15.00 for not pressing the button to say which country he booked off in.

If this is not the Krauts just clutching at straws to take money off drivers for the slightest reason,i don`t know what is.

In my opinion they are pathetic, greedy or just jobsworths. :unamused:

Maybe they’re just doing their jobs and enforcing the law for the safety of all other road users… IMHO.

And how does road safety come in to it when all did was forgot to tell the digi tacho what country he was in,there was no hint of him breaking drivers hours regs.

I always thought coppers etc were allowed to use there discretion.A stern telling off would have sufficed in my opinion.

Just greedy gits thats all

The law is the law, learn it, obey it or be punished.

Which part of that do you not understand (tongue firmly in cheek, not looking for a slagging match!)?

I would like to answer that but, words escape me :unamused:

ive been using a card now since the new year and my boss has downloaded it twice now , it shows 3 infringements , and thats doing 4.32 hrs , 4.33hrs and 4.35 . but his computer can tell him exactly what yoy were doing at any minute of your shift so the old ( i was stuck in a jam ) gem dont work anymore

FOR ALL OF US WHO drive both digi-tacho, and the old system
it was reported else where that ,a driver who had driven a digi-tacho
vehicle and then one with the old system ,was stopped in Belgian
and recieved a fine due to the fact, that he was only carrying the
drivers-card,without a print-out AND histachgraph disks which
he ws useing or had used,I replied that this was
not correct what they had done ,well i have to eat my words
because I am WRONG, yesterday i got in the post my drivers
card from FLENSBURG,along with a printed sheet which had
all the rules and regulations about what is required and when
useing a vehicle fitted with the
old system after haveing driven a digi-tacho,YOU must get a
print out of what is on the card aand carry this with you, Sorry
folks ,but they were right in how they dealt with the person who
was not carrying a print out,ALSO THEY enclosed a
write up of the new forth comeing change as regards the
drivers from April this year,

Beware of Belgian tacho rules, warns RHA
The UK Road Haulage Association says truckers visiting Belgium could be caught out by the way the country is enforcing EU rules digital tachographs. There, a trucker must carry a paper print-out of any driving record from a truck with a digital tachograph, for any journey he has done in the past 15 days. “No problem if the truck has a digital tacho. But, if he’s switched to a truck with an analogue tacho, he can’t print out a record on the spot. One of our member’s drivers was fined because he was caught like this,” said Peter Cullum, head of international affairs for the RHA. “He had tacho charts and his driver’s card, enough to satisfy UK authorities.” Cullum says that if you’ve driven a truck with a digitach in the previous 15 days, carry a copy of the print-out. He also he thinks Austria may start to use a similar routine to Belgium
