The range avonmouth

Looking for some advice for newbee driver,
Doing my first time out saturday working at the range avonmouth doing store delivery’s on agency but apparently gregorys run all the transport? Anybody worked in there, whats it like cheers Billy

Not worked there but have done store deliveries at other places.

My advice is when your know which stores your doing ask other drivers which is the best way in and what the procedure is at the particular store ie is it reverse into yard, drive in and screw it round tip on the road. If it’s reverse in can you approach it from the side which means your not going to have to blindside reverse in etc. If there’s no one to ask google maps with satellite view is your best friend to find out where you need to me as the address you get given may be the address for the front of the store.

have delivered there a few times. and know there kind of strict on booking in time. if an hour early your told to wait . an hour late get refused.
and do see a lot of Gregory’s trucks in there . so guess they do.
also as above try ask for directions to loading areas.
esp if its it a shopping centre.
i find its best to just google the store and ring them direct and 9 times out of 10 they can tell you where the loading area is

I work in there every weekend. You’ll have to wait at the gate with everyone else until they come and let us in due to someone in DHL getting upset over Covid report in the Daily Mail. It’s easy work and the trucks are all looked after. You’ll be taken to one side to fill in a mountain of paperwork, and then given your run. Ignore the maps in the office, use a satnav and Google earth, and ask another driver or the guy giving you the job, they’re all drivers. Some shops you have to reverse into but most have big yards. You might get sent to Fishguard harbour with an Irish run. If you do , strap it down well. You’ll take it to the dock(don’t go to Pembroke like a pair of idiots last week   ) drop trailer and return with another that you will be allocated. The guys are friendly and the work easy. It is Gregorys trucks and they run the transport side.

Its called moving along with times. One business owns others. They are called sister companys although in 10 years will be called snowflake companys . 1 company can be trading with 100 other names. Regards.
