Hi all, I’ve read some stickies, done a lot of googling and I’m still not 100% on whether this is reasonable.
The background is I have my C+E from years ago but I need CPC to get back into driving again and, being as the last time I drove was 2010, I want a refresher day.
So, I’ve been quoted this:
Four CPC’s in the classroom at £70.00 plus VAT - £336.00 inclusive
One CE refresher day at £325.00 plus VAT - £390.00 inclusive
One CE day CPC upload at £35.00 plus VAT - £42.00 inclusive
For a total cost of £768.00
Would you say that’s a fair price to get me back in the game?

Sounds about right. As for the “Periodic” CPC modules, you could do ADR instead and have that qualification under your belt.

Bin the refresher day in my opinion if you last drove in 2010 you will pick it back up in 10 minutes surely?
I’ve decided to do 5 x CPC classroom days and see how I feel about the refresher. Worst case scenario is I get compliant and get knocked back at assessment and have to do a refresher, right? I don’t want to spent nearly £400 that I might regret.

Well the CPC slams the door open on being able to work, so no bad thing!
As for a refresher, I know it’s a bit cheeky… But I hear some driving schools offer a free assessment.
So if does click in 5-10 mins, your mind is at rest!

I had a week off in March, struggled to keep the trailer in the same county as the unit for the following week. Ok I’d only been at it for 10 weeks or so, but it was one hell of a wake up call.

Thanks for the replies, Evil.

I could be totally off at HGV driving after 5 years but driving is the one thing I’ve always been good at despite numerous f’kups in my life so I’ve gravitated back towards it.
