The poor state of moto services

l: am I the only 1 to notice the poor state of moto services southwaite showers not working toilets out of order sinks out of order same at birch Kinross showers is a dump and the smell of a open sewer at toddy and Exeter complain to staff and no one seems to give a toss. gotta laugh at the sign checked regular etc speak to member of staff blah blah £3 plz bring back the bp truck stops cleaned before you use them come on moto get it sorted

Usually in each Moto, there is a board with the number of the area(?) manager on it.

I would ring up while your there and complain, and then tell them that the staff don’t give a toss.

Ken.

I would just stop going to these places
Who is making you go

fair point but I do need the toilet and I do like to be washed every day given the option of moto or a clean place to stop I would stop in a clean well managed stop but am sure as many out there on the road every week you cant always find them and in certain parts of the uk you choice is very limited it dosent take 2/3months to fix a shower does it given the choice I would happy pay for a clean and tidy place to stop

Use the fleece at j42 or penrith at j40 instead of southwaite for a shower.

i think that goes for just about EVERY moto owned and run services… even Lymm truckstop has gone downhill since MOTO took over…

B…

As an aside, Roadchef sites are due to go under the hammer soon… hopefully those that have been neglected of late should soon be seeing some improvements…

The newer EXTRA services are actually quite good. I was at the one on the west of the M25, like a shopping mall. Usual collection of EU Drivers parking under the motorway, get in to the truck park, all tarmac, nice easy large bays to get into.

Couldn’t fault the parking, food choice and quality or the cleanliness. Some MSA’s have money spent on them - some don’t. MOTO seem to be one of the worst.

If I had a choice out of South Mimms or Thurrock, South Mimms wins hands down.

Then again, my opinion is that of a 45 minute breaker - not a 9/11/24/45 hours. Obviously the “Night Outers” will not be happy with paying EXTRA 20 quid and not getting a meal voucher, which is very understandable.

i do go to them as well just using southwaite as prime example as the toilets and showers always seem to be out of order :unamused:

Did a change over at Strensham not long ago and the toilets there are absolutely rancid. The smell is nearly unbearable, probably worse than the smell of the truck park on a hot sunny day. Absolutely disgusting.

Is it Charnock Richard that has the new showers in? They’re ■■■■ good!

Lancaster was the one I meant!

Strensham loos smell like a badgers arm pit.
The tarmac surface on the s/b was cratered like the moons surface for ages.
They have repaired parts of the exit for the Lgv parking area, but not all of it.
The new Msa Gloucestershire M5 n/b is open in May.
They are paying bakers £9.50 per hour. The owners are from Teebay truckstop and Westmoreland Msa.

Go up the road a bit to Cullompton nice and clean there. muck ducks open 24/7 not everyone’s liking but you can get tea coffee etc all night. they take SNAP too

Gotta agree with OP.Pulled into Frankley recently, I thought it was derelict,as is Farthing Corner :open_mouth:
Is the writing on the wall?

Interesting might see an improvement should drivers start a co op style msa might mean large improvements

All cackholes. Beaconsfield and Cobham set the standards that nobody else can be bothered to follow. I only use services for fuel, the loos, or the odd break, never to overnight, but I’m pig sick of having to clean the toilet before I can use it. Been to Hopwood Park in the early hours (when they’re hardly stretched staff-wise) tried the gents (blocked) disabled (EE shower room, filthy) had to go in the ladies in the end as it was the only one with bog roll.

Last time I went into Charnock Richard, the hygiene checking form was 3 days out of date, and still hadn’t been signed at 11am. The smell must have kept the staff away.

Sorry, I went off topic, I tend not to see who operates them, but they’re all pretty rank.

Moto have spent 10pound on the truck park in Kinross, they have actually painted a couple eh lines to mark out bays!
