Lots of railway bridges round east London stated “G Davis is innocent”.
Who was G. Davis and what had he not done?

Remember “Sid Sideboard and the Tea Set” on a M1 bridge near Toddington?

A brief outline…blogs.independent.co.uk/2011/05/ … -all-that/

According to Wikipedia George Davies was an armed robber
who got his collar felt several times.
He did get the last laugh though, because his second wife was
apparently the daughter of a London Chief Inspector.

Sham 69 sang a song about George Davis.

Gouranga? Not seen that in a while, never did know what it meant. Was it something to do with Hari Krishna?

It meant be happy ,i think

There was a song by ‘The Bonzo Dog Doodah Band’ that was called ‘give peas a chance’ I think, but I stand to be corrected. Sure it was similar anyway.

Just found it, ir was ‘give booze a chance’
