The next episode in the The One With…
Now on these forums Radio 2 has been recently taking a bit of bashing, however it kept me very entertained during this week with its discussions. The best being ‘Is it the NHS duty to supply ■■■■ to those during IVF treatment’. It was quite funny listening to women say that they would not to conceive a child that was a result of ■■■■. So I’m afraid boys it no longer thinking of beautiful women like this …
but instead using your own imagination which makes women more like…
Little chance of any concieving going on then

Sorry mate I was distracted by the top picture!!
Northern boy:
Great diary mate. I have also picked up at that waste paper place
Yeah but I bet you didnt do like did and put the notes down for the two seconds it takes to shut the doors…only to spend an age searching for the afterwards.
chaversdad:
how come your skelly has a hole for 13.6mtrs and then another hole for 45ft, arent they one and the samei just leave it stretched right out no matter wether its a 40 or 45
Ah you want to be careful with questions like that mate. There are more knowledgeable people on here than me that would bang on about strength and weaknesses of the skelly in the correct and non-correct positions
grahamA:
Great diary Tonka Welcome to dockside but an hour for a box is not bad
But how much room do you need theres plenty at Pandrol
With the amount of spots you have of me over the past couple of weeks then I can only say…STOP STALKING ME!!
I only kid. Its alright down there but on the final left bend before the weighbridge on the way out. Everytime I go down there is always either a car or bike parked on that corner which gives you the smallest margin between the trailer, the handrail on the walkway and the vehicle.
The waiting is cool, so much so by the end of that week I had planned to be an hour on dockside. So was surprised when on Friday from checking in the box to the gate out took a magnificent 15minutes. Happy day down the road earlier than expected and earlier at my drop.
darkseeker:
Hope them boys at Optivite looked after you! Driven for em a fair bit but sadly it didn’t last.
TBH they were a good laugh, and thankfully took there time to unload me which gave me time to work out the next days route. There were quite a few rigids who kept comig and going.
Santa:
I was chatting to a container driver the other day who was waiting to get tipped in our yard. It was 08:30 and he was booked in for 10:00 and he was moaning that he was parked in the road and the yard and the ramp were clear - so why couldn’t the get on and tip him.
What he (and some of you) may not realise, is that there’s a hell of a lot of stuff in that box, and staff are rostered to come in and deal with it at the booking time. He was out of the way where he was so no point in him moving until the man with the seal chomper and his team were ready for him.
I too always like your diaries. Keep up the good work.
I have no problem with waiting. Im been cheeky before and managed to get tipped/loaded some well before my booking time, other times Ive had to wait a few good hours it to get on a bay/ramp. From my POV it allows for general internet fun, DVDs, book reading etcwhich means im getting paid to sit and play on the tinternet. Then when they give me a shout or knock the door then im good to go, its just the swings and round abouts.

ooooooohhhhhh, yawn.
Iv’e not done container work before so I find these diary’s inciteful . It’s alwys good to see how other firms work from the drivers point of view , a bit like " fleet focus " used to be in a certain truck mag ( hint , hint ).
It also , I imagine , takes a bit of time to put a diary together , especially when adding in a bit of humour .
So , I’m not yawning
Thanks Ben , great stuff , keep em coming !!
The longest thing about putting up the diaries isnt just writing them up nor putting pictures on the likes of photobucket, resizing them, getting the code and inserting them. The humour does take a bit of time seeing as I have a bit of weird sense of fun. No the longest thing is coming up with the title…I mean after The One With The Diary and The One With The Pictures, your kinda struggling.
pigpen:
you where just around the corner from me in abingdon
TBH i was gonna ask how you can afford to live down there. £3 for the smallest portion of chips Ive ever seen in my life is costly, however I will admit it was rather beautiful down by the riverside.

Sounds like you’re enjoying yourself, it’s nice to look at something on here once in a while that isn’t a moan or whinge
Keep smiling and keep em comingi agree
I think that might have been browncow 2 problem (either that or the powers that be have brought in a new forum where you must post on every thread…its just too easy to call him a pillock (which is the logical conclusion on his post).
So I will have a moan about my general week…TIC
I have a planner which I get on well with so much so that he will ask if I want to work on a Saturday (simply to run it back in)
If I cant do a run (either thru lack of hours or i havent got a flux capacitor on the truck) then I ring my planner who either rings the firm im delivering to and alerts them or changes the run (never had to yet)
Ever truck in the firm has cab phones so its free to call between each one. Over the past week I must have been on the phone to the other drivers for some 10hours+
My boss rang me during week 2 (IIRC) and talked me thru Seaforth as it was my first time there. I mean how dare he(!)
Oh of course none of the above is a moan. How about…
Im multi-drop in an artic on a rigid run and getting the boss chasing me 24/7 to see why im not able to time travel
My wages are in the bank when they should be
My boss has the nerve to ring me once a week to enquire how much he owes me in night out money
Yeah for those with a bit upstairs none of this comes as a moan. It is actually a great job where there is great banter between the drivers and the powers that be at drops and collections. Theres no stress in the work, simply its all about communication, if theres an issue pass it on straight away rather than cause hassle for yourself.
The way I view it…this is what driving should be about (and long may it continue!!)
To everyone else thanks for the positive comments
