The old man & the auto

Another example of a situation where an elderly person loses control of an auto. Perhaps there should be serious consideration to retesting by a certain age. Trouble is I reckon most would fail.

It’s easy to slag off elderly drivers every time one has an accident, but I think you’ll find motor insurance is dearer for young drivers for a reason.

Motor insurance costs increase for the elderly as well as the young, there must be a reason for that.

Well obviously costs go up with inflation, but I think you’ll find the rising cost of insurance is disproportionately higher for younger drivers than it is for older drivers.

On the point of regular tests, I wouldn’t be against regular assessments for everyone, young and old.

my grandads insurance 2 years before he died was more expensive than mine. i was 22 at the time… go figure.
