The new breed

Happy trucker my username is but today I am and becoming more the moaning trucker , love my job but the new breed of trucker really frustrates me .

Had to park at Hamilton services Thursday night as could quite reach the spot I was going to park in Glasgow.
Moan 1 - not to busy parked up about an hour later bulk tipper pulls alongside me and leaves engine running for about an hour and can constantly hear him talking on his phone obviously on hands free at full volume , 2am wake up same again he has turned engine on and again chatting away yap yap hands free full volume ,0530 engine back on revving this time , doing my head in now so I have brekkie/ shower and leave at 0645 he still has engine on ticking away , what a waste of fuel / environmental issues and generally a pain in the ■■■ .

Moan 2 - Charnock Richard on way home again plenty of space , 4 trucks all parked in coach bay ( lunch time ) cuz it’s nearer to the building , in pull a couple of coaches of mainly pensioners then a coach of school children , no where to park so ended up parking in amongst the trucks causing a longer more hazardous walk for old uns and young uns alike .

Moan 3 - just about to leave Charnock Richard EE driver walks in front of me with his McDonald’s hood up flip flops on gets into truck pulls away in front of me then proceeds to enter slip road onto M6 southbound , trouble is he is going about 25 mph causing problems with us behind him trying to get on the motorway and traffic coming down the motorway , about 1/2 mile onto the motorway I get out around him in middle lane look over and he is more interested in trying to ge5 his McDonald’s out of the bag than the carnage he is causing behind him , mind you he is still going no faster then about 30 mph , ■■■■

The older I get, the more the engine running ones get under my skin, as do the ones having a break on the pump and not fuelling up. But the ones who get me more than any are the ones who lose speed, weave around, then speed up when you try and overtake or weave into my lane as I’m alongside, and all because they’re ■■■■■■■ about with their phones.

I think I’d be having a quiet word with the prick in the tipper at some point.
It ain’t just drivers though is it, there’s just very little empathy, courtesy and good manners every where today .
