The most stupid bridge in the world!

It looks like it is a junction which isn’t finished, which drivers are trying to use despite the barriers blocking it. So more like stupid drivers than a stupid road layout.

but the diagram in the video shows that even when finished and open , it takes traffic traveling one way and deposits them on the opposing carriageway facing oncoming traffic.

agency builders

future improvements are to incorporate a giant dry ice pump so as the junction can be pertinently shrouded in dense fog.

That was the intended layout for the updated Catthorpe interchange, but the Highways Agency computer was hacked, and the plans were sold on to the Iranians…95% ITK

The diagram doesn’t show what is actually there. The bridge is clearly two-way (with opposing directions separated by a barrier), which splits into an entry and exit slip road from the far carriageway.
Traffic is going onto the wrong carriageway on the bridge - probably ignoring some signs and barriers, which the video conveniently doesn’t show - then is going the wrong way down an exit slip road which is currently blocked with a barrier.

as far as i can see the diagram shows a black car leaving the carriageway running right to left, following the path of that car it will emerge facing the traffic going left to right on the opposite carriageway.
Unless there are sliproads not shown on the diagram, then it doesn’t make any difference if there are one or two lanes, the exit to the opposing carriageway will put traffic head on.

It’s actually an escape route for all the vehicles driving the wrong way on the carriageway, it gets you facing the right way.

There is clearly a lot not shown in the diagram.
The traffic ending up at the temporary barriers and making a sharp turn to join the carriageway are driving the wrong way on a slip road, simple as that.

I can’t actually see the diagram. Must be a tapatalk thing
