international transport from the mid 1960s…and the Poles are already sending trucks to the UK!

Thanks for that Sherco… Enjoyed it. Two things sprung to mind. First was quite an alien concept…the goods out guy came outside and handed the paperwork to the driver, this must be before making the driver wait for two hours was invented.
Also, Health and safety is not what it was. Its safe to do 15hrs now and not just the 11 as was.
Have we evolved so much in 50yrs?

I liked the Italian health inspector scattering his ■■■ ash over the pheasants!

Interesting that the first clip actually showed a more efficient parcel operation than many are today. Without computers they were still tracking parcels, the trailer was all ready loaded for the return journey and there was an automatic fifth-wheel that retracted the trailer legs without the driver having to do anything.

I loved the man from the ministry checking the vehicle in his hat and raincoat!

You see nothings changed at all. They had wally,s driving wagons then and are still driving em now

Yeh but, the parcel fella only had to go from London to Brum but he stopped at a cafe for a nice dinner on the way!
Eeeh! Im welling up here. Meals out on the road! .... Cafes!! Who`d have thought it?? All in 11hrs as well!
Mind Brum from london would have been a lot further then in that Bedford piece. Not a nice thing even when new.
