The MIGHTY Volvo F7

There you go Evvo, Ex Shell chinese six  I stand to be corrected  but a mate of mine bought this from a dealer in Cambridgeshire who in turn got it from V.J Harper Haulage who swapped the Shell day cab for a sleeper, Dont know where it is now as he sold it sometime last year :unamused:

fantastic pics all, keep them coming! think i may have a few knocking about ill have a look

I seem to remember that the F7 cab was touted as the Club of Four or something, as it was also used by Saviem, Renault and …? Sorry, I forget who the other one was!

RD - You’re nearly right  the ‘Club of Four’ was Daf , Volvo, Magirus Deutz, and Saviem , From around 1975 ish

Cheer’s lemonmouth I used to see tem running around quite a bit even still inot the early 90’s I think.

that cab even made it to the states thanks to saviem-renault-mack tie ups, you still see the odd one round the NY-NJ area, along with scania 82s mainly 4 wheeler landscapers/builders wagons etc

drove this for a while before i went onto artics, one of the first proper trucks ive ever driven, always jumped out of 5th while going around corners though, this thing pulled about 17tonne of sugar around every day for god knows how many years, still going now as well.

that looks like a right ‘meaty’ f7!

it was a flatbed until about 2 years ago when they spent god knows how much putting a new body on it

my employer seems to go to great lengths not to replace his trucks

although i think that one should be kept, hes got 20 year old mercs still working very hard and showing the signs of it

funnily enough he upgrades his fancy mercedes car every year…

What a great example of “The MIGHTY F7”…
any chance of a pic or 2 of the cab interior? Please

Nice thing about Oz trucks: they never go rusty!

here’s a few more “gorgeous” F7’s…

wonder if this one went as far as the desert?

It wouldnt be proper without a supermarket example…
fancy a shift on this one MIKE T and AXORMAN?

or a nice “meaty” 6 wheeler

or a “top of the range” Dane :sunglasses:
Was this the “poor mans” version of a Globetrotter?

Sorry about the quality its absolutely shocking will  will try to get a decent pic when I go up there in the day.

This F7 or F6 was taken at Cauldon Lowe tarmac Quarry last Sunday Dont know waht its used for.

Will get my old fella to dig out some photos of his brand new F7 KBF 798V six wheel tipper. First truck I ever went in so have a soft spot for the little Volvo!

what was you trying to do pinch it ?

Don’t be daft Truckerash, how can you do supermarket work with that? Where’s the bed? I’ll get the boss to buy this one with a sleeper. This was in Dawsonfreight’s yard but I don’t remember ever seeing one in their colours, I suppose someone will have a photo now.

Schrama used to run some nice tidy outfits too, though I 'm not sure if they’re still around.
