The masterplan

Reading the boss of the CBI encouraging the government to take another look at migration. Says we should allow the low skilled back.

Is this the masterplan? Leave the EU so we lose all the workers rights they have AND as a brucie bonus we go back to massive immigration to keep wages through the floor?

Only probem is the EEs- wont be coming back anyway. Better money and conditions everywhere but the uk. Maybe encourage mass immigration from even poorer countries.

I heard on the radio today some petroleum distributors association boss or something said he approved of the temp visas but said he’d prefer local drivers training to be sped up. Get them through the system and on the job he said. Of course being a boss man one shouldn’t believe what he says but instead observe what he does

Mrs just sent me a faceache posting which cropped up on her feed (no i’m not on bloody FB), Winc fuel tanker driver posted pic of his wagon and stated clearly no shortage of fuel and no shortage of drivers, and a waiting list of applicants.

We’re just in another phase of operation fear and most fell for it like they have all through.

Well the thing is with ADR tanker drivers they have to go through several weeks of in-house training before they’re let out on their own, even if they have experience so it’s going to take a while.

Not if they’re already in place and there is in fact no shortage of tanker drivers.

Honestly some of the comments that’s posted on this board is amazing, every time someone says something about anything someone here makes out it’s a conspiracy against British workers

I mean, what would you expect the boss of the CBI to say

I agree can’t really blame.boris and what can he really do about this mess. It’s been coming.for years long before he was elected.
Kind feel for him
He’s had Brexit covid now this to sort out.
Blame.lies at penny pinching customers who put profits 1st

I would expect it to say that the plebs should all be very grateful to have job at all and it is only the goodness of his members and their shareholders’ hearts that they actually get paid for their labour. It would follow this up with demanding that employees work harder and that they should give up their holiday entitlement so that its members can buy a new Bentley.

well maybe he could scrap the drivers cpc. and change the drivers hours now we’re out of the EU, and get some truckstops built by changing planning laws

how people like you make excuses for this level of failure and say that you feel for him, hes the ■■■■■■■ prime minister, for ■■■■■ sake hes got time to bring in laws to ban protesting, or bring back pounds and ounces,

More like the final phase of Bozo’s Paris Accord comittments.UN says jump and ‘climate’ protestors block the M25 and ‘given’ the right to sue any non compliance and Bozo says how high and how quick do they want the change and how best to ‘persuade’ us all to give up our cars and get on the bus.
We all then pay for the all electric utopia.
Not much of a future for tanker drivers in that.

£43 million Public monies went on the failed London Garden Bridge project. I can’t see how much has gone on the Irish tunnel or bridge projects. Anyone?

Screw all the political games regarding Brexit. The Commies will stop at nothing to get us back in with the EU. The sooner people realize they are a real threat, the better.

What we have just witnessed is sabotage of a portion of the UK economy. Why is this not being treated as a criminal or even terrorist act?

Terrorism: harming the civilian population for political gain.

where are these eu workers rights we have lost…they gave us the spy in the cab ,15 hour spread…silly WTD we still have them,eu are extending retirement age…we got nothing and we have lost nothing :smiling_imp:

Like all the other Remainer spewed BS, it isn’t true.

You don’t lose rights; you only suffer restrictions. The mere fact they are using reverse-psychology should be a huge red flag.

It’s like all the arguments about equality - everyone already has equality. They are creating inequality by talking about a problem that doesn’t even exist except in their own minds.

The 15 hour spread allows an employer the get-around of where there is a union that won’t let it’s drivers work more than 10 hour shifts on nights - just get in agency for (now) top dollar!

If Unions all disappeared,- natural market forces would actually happen in the workplace proper, rather than just on the cutting edge of agencyland… :bulb:

Wages for full timers - won’t be rising, until every yard in the country has opted out of the Euru Regs such as the WTD “Being in the crap for not going on break until 6hrs5ins into your duty” or of course “working more than 10 hours on nights”…

The main reason for getting sacked from a driving job these days should be:-

Criminal Activity at work
Blameworthy Accident(s)
Poor attendence record

And that’s IT.

Where’s the wisdom in keeping on the driver with 9 points who just put a tractor through a wire fence, but getting rid of less popular clean-licenced other guy who’s had 3 WTD infringements this past month■■? :open_mouth:

I seem to remember the right to strike, in the form of secondary action went out the window after we’d joined the scam.
Among loads of other union ‘reforms’ in favour of the employers.Including compulsory ballot for any actions and agreements that go against the employers’ interests but not for those which go in favour.
Which proves that employment laws were never EU wide.
All EU laws and regulations signed into UK law that was Boris’ BRINO that isn’t what we voted for.

The dept for buisiness have already prepared a paper on cutting workers rights - did they just do that for a laugh?

Tell me why you think tories and rich bosses wanted out of the EU? Cos they wanted to pay higher wages? Not likely is it.

Secondary strike action has been illegal in the UK since the 1920’s I think?
The EU does however defend it in some cases.
