Coming off the m25 to join the m3 Southampton bound about 11pm last night there was 3 lanes down to 1 for a good few miles and the same on the other side. They were resurfacing the side going towards london so I can understand why that was closed but why was the other side closed? There was nothing on our side all the way up and it didnt look lile it had just been done either. Sat there for an hour for sweet fa!!

I don’t know what work they were doing but, there could have been drainage work, curing etc anything going on that you were not aware of but are an expert about
You could say typical truck drivers the amount of unneccesary debris, shed loads & collision closures ?
Anyway contractors do the work and have to put the TTRO in with a justification, ask them

I forgot, they are now restarting daytime roadworks where to do so would not cause a queue length greater than “about 15mins” or it’s overall cheaper to do so, I can’t remember the exact words but there you go after the effort to make all roadworks night time, they are doing daytime works, tbh in a lot of places it’s prob easier, safer & cheaper to do it daytime outside of ‘peak’ hrs, they used to do it in the past when I had a mixer.
