"The Long Haul Pioneers"

Hi all,
Out of interest who has the lowest numbered signed book by Ashley Coghill ? I do know, but he has just told me he has sold over 12,000 copies now and it would be interesting to see who has the lowest numbered book and what country it is in now. Please humour me with this.

I have a copy that was signed by Truckerash at the Gaydon do dated 12-06-2010.

Mine is from the first batch of re-prints in 2010

Signed by Ash and the legend Gordon Pierce

Where do I find the number?

Paul, I don’t think these books are serially numbered. Aren’t you thinking of the Astran models, which were numbered. By the way, my copy of the book is 2010 and signed by Ash. Robert

Hi all,
The first 150 books were numbered,I should have stated that. Sorry Robert for the confusion…

Paul

Hiya…My book is number 9 and that was allocated to me by Ashley as it was because of a private joke between us,to me its a priceless piece as mine has the autographs of Bob Paul,Dave Poulton,Frank Hook,Gordon Pearce and loads of others inside…and I was lucky enough to get a mention…on page…9
Cheers Bubbs,

Well done Bubbs,
keep them coming everybody else  Paul

Hi all,
The first 500 books were signed,I should have stated that. Sorry Robert for the confusion…

Paul

No worries! Mine is not just signed: it has an inscription addressed to me personally, so it may not of be of the 500 mentioned. Just glad I’m in it, just glad I’ve got in, just glad to know the author and just glad that it’s all been such a success. I expect you feel much the same, Paul. Robert

any pics of signed books ?

Mine is No 8…but you probably already know that.

Hello Mark! Hope you’re keeping well. Where are these numbers, then? Are they written or printed? Robert

Hello Robert…mine is inside the front cover (effectively the first page), on a separate sticker signed by Ashley…I felt quite privileged to get such low number…and yes, I’m fine thank you. Will we see you at Gaydon this year?

Thanks for the clarification. No number in mine, but the warmth of the personal message transcends anything else. And yes, I hope to see you at Gaydon! Cheers. Robert

Hi Postie
Mine is number 112. It corresponds with my old truck the 112 Scania “Light” that I used to drive. Ash asked me what number I wanted. I chose 141 but that was taken so I chose 112 as that was next best.

Hi All,
I do remember some people’s book numbers, but not all of them. My book’s are 7,13 and 2001. I also had 40,100 and another number which I can’t remember for the life of me. So who has 6,5,4 and 3 I think Gordon has 2 and Ashley has 1,but Bob had a book I am sure but again can’t remember the number.Ashley might have a complete list. Thanks for all the replies, keep them coming. Paul

Ashley wrote heart-felt thanks to the enormous number of generous-spirited souls who helped him to get his epic book on the road. Doesn’t a thread like this run the risk of devaluing those personal messages by making them public property? Robert

It’s up to you Robert,to see or not to see what was written…

For obvious reasons, I have “number 1”.
Inside, I have a signature from EVERYONE who contributed and/or helped with my 2 year labour of love!

For me: number 1 is priceless!
Bob Paul was thrilled with the finished result and signed his photograph accordingly: “You did a fantastic work of art” .
