What do you think he’d have to say? Your feet stink so I’m doing you under section 2 of the pong act?

Can’t see why it should be a problem as long as you’re in control of the vehicle - you could always lock the door so they can’t open it :sunglasses:

^^ What he said.

If you consider you are safe and in control of the vehicle (even to the point of being able to apply enough force in an emergency) then you are fine.

Be aware that, although it not regulated by law, some company policies do dictate no sandals / open toe shoes on site and would probably frown on it if you turned up on site with just your socks on

just making sure i was within the law my boots stay on the step

There was some old pony and trap about the French doing drivers who didn’t have a strap over their heel. I either drove barefoot or in the old Clacks and never had a problem in France or anywhere else.

It made it much easier diving across the cab for a peage if I was in a RHD, and to be honest most of the daft plod used to try and open the other door if they stopped me. I have sat several minutes waiting for them to realise I am not going to answer that door, however long you knock

i doubt they would say anything as on a tv program ive seen drivers wearing stockings & suspenders

If you are unsure just wear slippers or slip on shoes that only stay in the cab

+1.

On the other hand, if i saw you driving like a tool and stalling it at lights etc, then i would be having words but i don’t think there is offence for it.

OK, so should we also be wearing hard hats, ear protectors and safety goggles while driving too

I usually drive in Euroroutier Clogs, but in this weather it’s socks or commando for me.
It’s a bit of a pain driving through heavy traffic like it although in France and Germany when I can set the cruise control it’s barefeet.

  think I seen that as well, is that the one where the driver refused to get out when the copper asked him to, so the copper dragged him out

As long as they comply with BS EN471 Class2 Hi-Vis standards I can’t see there being a problem.

Definitely if you ever drove an old ERF 4 wheeler and weren’t in the gear you thought you were as you set off on a gradient onto a roundabout - que top shelf emptying the entire contents over driver, cab & bunk!

I wear dealer boots and kick them off sometimes when driving, as for dirt on the floor I dont really care I brush it out.

Euroroutier Clogs seem to make people walk like they are a man wearing high heels

Hope this helps. :sunglasses:

I always wear my steel toe cap safety boots, you can never be too careful. Nothing else, just my boots! It’s so refreshing with the air con on full blast
