The Italian job

Just watched it yet again but for the first time in at least 7 or 8 years on film 4 hd and it was a perfect picture in hd, and also what a really cool film, in fact its got to be about the coolest film ever made.

Agreed. Always watch it when on, a classic. So patriotic. :sunglasses: Kinda sad watching old films sometimes seeing how much uk has changed.

Yeah it’s a classic bit of fun alright! What about The French Connection? Cracking car chase in that! Others?

Guy Ritchies films, ■■■■■■, lock stock, rock & roller. :sunglasses:

Is there much driving action in them? Don’t remember any?

I’m generally only interested in British films and have not much time for American stuff, however the exception to that is The Blues Brothers I have watched it so many times I almost know the script. Gold.

The Americans actually got the director of this to direct the action sequences in Bullitt.

Now there’s a damned good flm. Also the Mad Max trilogy is good watching. :sunglasses:

Ronin has a cracking car chase in it. I adore the first blues brothers, the second one is a ■■■■ poor Disney style attempt at a sequel, shockingly abysmal!

Oh yeah, the Italian job is one of, if not my all time favourite film.

Agreed…Italian Job a classic…others Ive watched are…

Ronin…couple of good chases including the Paris Peripherique
Duel…classic 70s car v truck
Ice Cold in Alex…Black and white war film about a WW2 truck/ambulance crossing the Sahara

an unlikely candidate though is National Treasure 2 features a car/truck chase through the City of London with a 18tonner Scania Beer delivery truck :open_mouth:

Carryfast has beat me to it …

Stanley Baker movie…ROBBERY…

All about the great train robbery in 63"…

Exellent car chase at the begining of the movie with old Jags… :sunglasses: WELL WORTH WATCHING…

Something completely different.Sometimes boats are faster than cars.

The Italian job is my all time favourite film i have it on both 40th anniversary dvd and blu ray and self preservation society is the ringtone on my phone.

Noel Coward only agreed to do the film because the director Peter Collinson was his god-son and begged him to be in it and name his fee as Coward was officially retired at the time. Coward insisted on one condition that his real life partner Graham Payn would play along side him as fellow inmate “Keats” He was not an actor by profession, but pulled the character off brilliantly.
