The Irony and the moment

Just went back into the office after delivering to sainsburys haydock. A pallet was rejected on one of the 5 deliveries I had on 1 trailer. Because its a palletline job they told me to take one of the pda things. Cut a long story short I’ve pressed the wrong code for the refused delivery. You should have seen body language during the conversation from the woman trying to talk down to me and how its the end of the world now because although the delivery was refused due to no purchase order, I’ve clicked refused damaged. This automatically starts a claim apparantly and then russia fires a missile at china. So I replied well just change it. WE CAN’T. now it has to go through all the channels now I’m being told and we have to get a signature from sainsburys to say it wasn’t refused damaged. Cue me showing the original paperwork and asking for the fax number of the originating company . Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Ah well. Its just a silly mistake isn’t it I said. Well these silly mistakes shouldn’t be made she replied as I’m looking at my next delivery paperwork… ooh look, a 4 digit reference number which should be 5…shall I tell her of her mistake now or wait till I get to the drop, and turned away from the gatehouse and put to the back of the queue ? The irony eh !!!

Take it back and then talk down to her telling her that she should know that it has to be a 4 digit code and that by bringing it back and taking it out again the additional pollution from the truck will cause Britain to fail to meet its obligations under the Kyoto Protocol which will lead to fines so huge it could break the economy.

That’s all we need - last week before Xmas and some idiot has put the whole of Palletline into meltdown for the next 6 months
All that surprises me is that you actually had the only PDA in the UK that works

You’ll be remembered as a ■■■■ for pressing the wrong button on your PDA a lot longer than you’ll be remembered a hero for noticing her mistake and saving her ■■■.

If she had a different attitude and was understanding towards your mistake, then I’d point her error out to her.

But something tells me she’ll try and blame you for not noticing the mistake. So is it worth the hassle?

and people mocked me when i said the world will end on the 22nd ,it all starts with the press of a button by driver

Red alert, PDA Malfunction Depot 49

Scramble helicopters ASAP

Funny how office politics is basically them dropping a bollock and being deceiptful… shoe on the other foot though … :unamused:

So when the world ends on Friday, apparently, it’s gonna be Kerbdogs fault for bunging in the wrong code.

Now look what you’ve gone and done

lol epic thread  :sunglasses:

Breaking news… palletline still in operation. When i got back i gently pointed out the 3 phone calls i made for reference numbers that were wrongly submitted or omitted by office staff. Ive also told them that should they feel the need to give me a pda then due to the nature of my fat fingers that maybe next time they should give me one of the plastic pens too. Anyway it turns out that i keep pressing the reject button on the phone instead of the answer call button today…me and my buttons eh
