Norman Ingram:
If I did Dave, I might get all of you in trouble with my wicked humour.
hiya,
I don’t think you could get me into trouble Norm my “old lady” would
die laughing, that would get me into debt though, with the funeral
bill, my wife doesn’t believe I could do anything wrong, believe me.
thanks harry, long retired.
He keeps her on laughing gas Wrinkly, like he does with the rest of us on these threads.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Just told her a very “mucky” joke Dave, that didn’t go down very well
she’s just clouted me round the lughole and stormed off to bed, looks
like I’ll be in the spare room tonight. Hope she’s turned the blanket on.
thanks harry, long retired
Electric blanket Harry ! A tough old lorry driver shouldn’t need an electric blanket.I have never had one of those, and stopped bothering with hot water bottles when I was a kid.You will have these young drivers thinking we were softies.
Bet you never had much heat in those Bristol’s or Atkinson’s,better enlist you for a refresher course with an old diesel motor.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Any toughness I ever portrayed has long gone, certainly not hard enough
to get into bed without having first having operated the glow plugs for a
while and of course the obligatory bed socks, there you go my rufty-tufty
lorry driver image shot down in flames, it’ll have to be the false beard and
wig at the next Geordie drivers “do” either that or abscond.
thanks harry, long retired.

You have been living in the warmth of the east wind to long Harry. You will have to come back over to the western side of the country into the prevailing winds to hone you back into shape.
Cheers Dave.

Doubt if I could go back West now Dave, my passport’s expired and after
40 odd years out East i’m not bi-lingual anymore too old for re-schooling.

I don’t think its compulsory Harry. We will have to have a show of hands.
Cheer’s Dave.
Norman Ingram:
Yes Dave I think he should, the main reason for my vote, Blackburn Rovers need every supporter they can get!
hiya,
So do Sunderland, they won the FA cup shortly after I shifted to this neck
of the woods and I’ve had a soft spot for them ever since used to get to
the old Roker ground on occasion but yet to get to the Stadium of Light.
thanks harry, long retired.
Blackburn Rovers owned by eastern chicken farmers Norm. I remember Sunderland winning the cup Harry, watched it live on tv with Bob Stokoe as manager beating Leeds who were favourates, they had a good team then.
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
I think Sunderland will be very lucky to escape the drop this season, I’d hate
to see that, once down the return is very difficult look at Middlesborough
and Leeds.

I’m surprised that Sunderland have slipped down the league table Harry, because Martin 'O’Neill is a good manager.
I think it must be down to some of there key strikers being injured.
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
We fully expected great things when Martin came aboard, as you say he’s a
cracker of a manager but he can only try with what he has available, I just
hope he can keep them up in the Premiership.
thanks harry, long retired.

Hope he can Harry.I read an article in the paper saying they need to score more goals.Newcastle aren’t far up the table, they did win last weekend, but haven’t been doing that well.
Cheers Dave
Myself I had to cut football matches out, I support my team from where I was born, from seven years old I have supported the cobblers, at the old county ground to the new ground of sixfields, but it was never the same, they seem to play at home if they was the away team, it was more exciting watching paint dry, at the old groud we had some terriffic games most we won, but some we lost. But never did we leave the ground and say it was a load of crap, for the players gave their upmost, I still listen to the radio and want them to do good, even gave money when they was in dire straits. I do like seeing Arsenal, Notts Forest, Newcastle play but never say I support them! Only the team where you are born, not like some who pick the best team at the time.

So Norm,we find out a little bit more about your devious dealings over the years, you own the local football team eh!,bailed them out when they fell on hard times, and I just bet you sit in the Directors box on matchdays, wearing a beard and glasses naturally !! Talk about “dodgy” Arabs buying up Premiership Clubs !!Cheers Anon 1.
