Dave the Renegade:
I always found the Bedford TK and the KM didn’t have enough of headroom in the cabs.I didn’t like anything with a lower cab, always preferred something a bit higher with more leg and headroom. I don’t know how the likes of Pete Windrush coped with them.
Cheers Dave.
Yes Dave, they hurt my neck driving them and killed my back repairing the blooming things! Must have been designed by the inhabitants of Lilliput!
Pete.
I drove a few TK’s and had a KM for six months Pete, pulled well and was fast, but the Ergo cabbed Comet and Commer Maxiload were nicer to drive.
Cheers Dave.

Hiya,
Have driven the odd TK most uncomfortable thing ever thrown together, I had to drive in a
sort of stooped position and after a day in one my neck was sore A pal of mine had his bed
made up on that parcel shelf thing and I had a go for curiosity with my head on my jacket
(pillow) my nose was touching the top and no way could I turn on my side I could never
ever have made a cab cowboy them lads deserved a medal the size of a frying pan.
thanks harry, long retired.

Hi Harry,
You and me are to big to fit on the parcel shelf of aTK or KM Bedford, and Pete Windrush at 6’ 5" would have had to hang his legs out of the window.
I couldn’t have slept on the shelf of any of the Bedford’s that I drove, as the tipping gear lever was mounted on them.
Cheers Dave.

Hiya,
I actually preferred the old “S” Type to the TK or KM range just a personal thing
my arse seemed too near the road for my liking and that handbrake lever was a
pain if you forgot yourself when getting out I’ve hooked my pocket on it several
times a stupid idea if ever there was one I suppose they was OK for local work.

I never drove an S type Bedford Harry, but did ride shotgun as a kid with my Dad in them. They did seem a big lorry in those days, but it was the clever PR by General Motors calling them The Big Bedford that had a lot of people brainwashed.
Cheers Dave.
I noticed on the other thread that Harry is going for his mot on the cancer thingy , so let’s hope all is ok for him . Oh and leave those lovely nurses alone Harry ! Cheers , dave
Dave the Renegade:
If he gets chasing those Nurses Dave, they will swat him with a bed pan. Hope everything goes well for Harry, and he has a good report.
Cheers Dave.
Hiya,
The hospital appointment has had to moved to quite near Christmas due to me getting shingles
(again) they said something about they had enough sick people in there and I wasn’t welcome
until I got the Ok from my GP and also had the flu injection which is a bit rough for me for a
day or so afterwards, again it’s something to do with having a weak immune system.
thanks harry, long retired.

.
Whoa, let’s not be too hasty telling him to leave the nurses alone, if he’s chasing them round there can’t be too much wrong with him.
Remember Harry, you’re as old as you feel, and when you stop feeling…you’re REALLY old.
As for the shingles bit, I took my father to St James in Leeds for cancer treatment once and got a bollocking, he had shingles and as soon as I told them they isolated him away from other patients.

hiya,
Not proper whisky as we know it Ang but if under the weather with a cold or flu suitable
for splashing into hot lemonade, but when fully pulled round it’s a quick return to the
single malts where of course nothing is added, yes nothing to dilute Gods nectar.
thanks harry, long retired.

Quite correct Harry, In fact they only hold 3 percent of the market, & as you say sigle malts are second to none IMO, Regards Larry.
