Nothing wrong with Blackpool,   sometimes people who visit, spoil it for other people, drinking , swearing, and bad behavior, but when people with children and old people during week days it is good. :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

hiya,
Got to admit I’m a bit of a Blackpool fan, maybe having spent my mis-spent youth
living not too far from there and using it as night out location for many years, it
was a great place for a night out and I’ve had many, but it is also fortunate that
my wife also enjoys the place as well and the “digs” we use suit our purpose just
fine and the free travel by bus or tram is ideal for us we can get far afield and we
can get back for free, yes a great weekend can be had in the Resort there’s some
top shows at various locations and the missus and me enjoy the odd afternoon at
a local bingo hall ideal if the weather isn’t so good, yes Blackpool has everything.
thanks harry, long retired.

the bus pass scheme is going to end in April.

Try Libertys hotel, it is good

Been on t’sick since Friday, son and grandson took me to the Nat. Rail Museum at Shildon. I tripped, fell, and after spending 5 happy hours in A&E Darlinton I was given the good news,2 fractures of shoulder “take this cheap lightweight sling and off you go to your own A&E in Yorkshire”. Jobs not going well, back to an orthopaedic clinic tomorrow to see what they are going to do. And it’s my drinking arm  I’m having to take a drop of malt using the wrong hand, I nearly spilled a drop last evening. Much pain and very little sympathy from herself. :frowning:

And that A1 down from Scotch Corner to Junc 40 M1 is scary for old lads at rush hour on a Friday when son is driving…something wrong with that lad, must take after his mother. :open_mouth:

Ouch not good

just ask the better half for a straw to drink with

I broke my shoulder in two places and dislocated it in my RTA years ago. Its not been right since, always know when the weather is going to change, as it ache’s. They probably have better ways of sorting them out these days. I have been offered a chance to see a surgeon to sort mine out. I’m a bit hesitant about having anything done, as it could affect other old injuries which I have.
Cheers Dave.

you have my sympathy brian , been there , done similar and all i got off "er indoors was "you shouldn’t be so clumsy ". i would advise increasing the malt to combat the pain , well it’s as good an excuse as any . hope they soon get you sorted out .

Bloody hell Brian whats up with you malt drinkers, can you not hold your drink,   I bet everytime you cry ouch, she who must be obeyed says serve you right, ever since I married you I have said you have two left feet.   Do you think she may have given you a little nudge, maybe she has been having a butcher hook at what you have been writing about her? :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: they are a tricky lot if you upset them.      And answer the hotel statement, yes the Libertys hotel is a good one, have stopped there the last two years, my granddaughter loves it. Hmm why are we controlled by females!

Do you reckon that G O M was beaten up by his Missus Norm, and didn’t trip at the Rail Museum. Poor old lad. :open_mouth:  She will have to drive the Jag now.
Cheers Dave.

that’s a bit cruel dave . poor old lad is suffering pain and anguish and now you’re instilling fear into him with the thought of the wife driving his beloved jag .

Well Dave, as he says in his own words " when son is driving…something wrong with that lad, must take after his mother. :open_mouth: " he hasn’t got a lot of choice. :open_mouth:  .
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
Brian is so lucky he can get his “old lady” to drive his motor, my missus seems
to think I’m her hired hand and as such do all the driving, two miles a week
is her limit, the hairdresser and back is her lot on a Friday the remainder of
the weeks driving is up to me.

:open_mouth: Yes, be afraid, I know I am,she only knows two ways to drive, pedal to the metal or so hard on the brakes she wakes the ABS up. Be afraid, think of me…and send whisky…any sort will do at the moment.

Postal rates being what they are, I’ve decided to drink the whiskey myself and send you my best wishes instead. I’m sure you will understand.

hiya,
Brian my local post office having been closed down under cutbacks, so I’ve decided
not to patronise the postal service, and I’ve come to the decision that I’ll wish you a
speedy recovery and get you back behind the wheel in quick time before the “good
lady” knocks too much value off the jam-jar, I will think of you when having a dram
this evening though, I thought you would appreciate my thoughts rather than whisky.

:imp: That’s bloody cruelty Mr. Dunbar and you ■■■■ well know it. Well out of order…
Anyway, my dear darling wife, (all 5ft and 8 stone of her) has been out in the Jaguar this morning to Asda and come home to her loving :unamused: husband with a nice bottle of Laphroaig for her poor old husband, “just to try to ease the pain a bit my love” :sunglasses:

P.S. that’s a very handsome drinks cabinet Larry, a man can be truly proud of something like that

I’ve seen a consultant orthopaedic surgeon (late Tuesday), Verdict…no surgery, nothing can be achieved due to the location of the fractures, no plaster cast, “we can’t put a pot on a shoulder”, so it will have to be left to heal itself, it will take 8 to 10 weeks and it WILL be painful.

Be very careful Brian, when they are being nice to you they are usually up to something . Check the bank balance and see what else she bought while she was getting your whiskey .cynical ? What me ?
