Bulkhaul started as a haulier didn’t they? yes they went in to intermodal stuff but it all came off the back of haulage.
I came across this thread while doing a Google search for something totally unrelated to lorries, but you know me, cant resist!
Steve Gibson worked for Bailee Freight Services in Stokesley and allegedly set up Bulkhaul on his mums kitchen table with Mike Neil whilst still working for BFS. (I was told this from someone who worked for him) I worked for Bailee Freight at the time.
They were certainly never hauliers, using sub contractors and a company called Nick Brown Trucking who had a fleet of facelift F10’s. This would be about 1983/4
Even now I wouldn’t class them as road hauliers, merely an intermodal tank company who use lorries as part of a service to their customers.
Some people wouldn’t even class Middlesbrough Football Club as a football team either
