Hiya dave…a few years back i drove up one side of scotland and came back down the other, i didnt go out on that 837 though

with that ERF unit…we had a chat about the old school Buxton drivers…Did you speak with Eric■■?
John
hiya john , i hope that andrew didn’t blacken my name too much ! i wrote the h reg lv cabbed erf off ,( identical to andrew’s ) and they got a motor panels cabbed sleeper to replace it . i’ve not seen eric for ages , i’ll have to nip round to his house and wake him up . could be off camping in france again , you never know with eric ! we go up north west scotland every year for 6 or 7 weeks , we have quite a few friends among the locals , cheers , dave

That looks familiar, is it an ex fairground wagon?
Yes it is – parked in my mate’s yard -
It’s well [zb]!
I had a Foden with a 320 Gardner in it that pulled like a train ,i saw it a few years ago painted up in the same colours as this Guy,the registration was D355 GWX i think,it had been stretched to a rigid and was working on the fairgrounds

I think I’ve seen that Foden; certainly, I’ve seen an ERF (B series I think) in those colours within the last few years, will look through pics and check.
As close as I can get, the photo that I posted was taken on the 28th June 2005 near Markfield in Leicester.

Others taken there:
Location: This is looking slightly south and that is the M1
And this is why I and a colleage was there. Well, he was there, I’d finished my job so had popped by to see him on the way back to base I was in the smaller truck - the 17m one on the left, he was in the 22m that was erect.

hi mate the one your thinking about is the sister wrecker to Q52 Q51/3 when they were both converted by tarmac they had to register them on q-plate’s as the log books were missing. Q52 BAL (BJU 689B) was brand new to cliffe hill quarry (cliffe hill granite co./tarmac).the hoveringhams wrecker was new to them as a tipper but they wasn’t sister wagon’s untill they got converted if that makes sense
Forest Road, Markfield crossed the M1, then has a left turn into Hill Lane. Follow the road. On the left are some farm buildings and on the right are some trees. Probably a gateway.
Zooming in with SiteFinder & GoogleEarth I can actually see the mobile phone transmitter. It is recorded in a different area of the yard but is an Orange 14m antenna, GSM @ 1800Mhz putting out 32dBW
Hiya …its a bit dodgy putting all the details of the trucks location on here…too many of the roaming
comunity could sneak in with a hiab and gas axe and leave an empty space…i think i know who the
trucks belong to but would 'nt say. the owner may worry about them going missing. I had a Seddon
cut up the last time scrap was at a high price along with a leyland comet 90 and a 1947 Thornycroft
that comunity dont bother about how rare or collecable a truck is as long as it will weigh in
