HX63 I guess, as it’s not a flatbed.
But like I say pal, I’ve a few other things I’m looking at currently…
Hahahaha, van driver

I’m not proud, if it pays right I’ll drive it!
I did it, took on a complete career change promised this and that, never delivered and boss was a complete [zb]. to the point where I didn’t even give notice, sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and return to the last checkpoint

I’m only joshing ya. I’m now going back down the road with this new lot so I may bump into you at some point.
When I was a TM in Birmingham, I also ran a warehouse and employed 8 or 10 labourers. They were pretty low paid, but I tried to make the job a good one. “Sure you can have tomorrow off.” Plenty of overtime in ‘pudding weeks’.
Longbridge was just down the road and several of the guys were lured there by the big pay packets. Most of them came back, citing the constant aggro by union on one side and management on the other. Money is not everything as we all know.
yea can think of 7 off the top of my head who have left and came back , that’s in the space of 3 ish years , and a few of em still whinge ■■■■ and moan bout the job
I’ve seen no end leave various firms that I have worked at, and then come back later. There have been more who have left and then tried to come back, only to be told ‘no thanks’.
As for me, I would have to be pretty hard up to return to a former employer because I left those jobs for a reason.

I know you are, not that I’m really bothered, and it’s easier to abuse me as being a limper!
Best of luck with the new gig!
And do you mean you’re relocating down here, or just running down here regular?
In an attempt to put this back on topic, I guess I should have put no instead of yes!
As like Olog Hai, I’ve always chosen to move/limp on looking for better, and never had a regret yet…
They were all crap!

lol no. I lived for 3 years in the centre of Soton and that is enough for me. I’ll be driving all over the country, just be on the lookout for a blue Volvo FH 11 plate.
we had one guy who talked it up for about 2 weeks before he left -
New Scania R580
good hours
long weekends
bling on the lorry - lights , alloy wheels fridge , microwave
etc
etc
he left on the Wednesday at dinnertime -
and was back the next morning at 11 .
Seems it wasn’t the pot of gold he had been promised .
There have been a few over the last couple of years who for one reason or another have left but having had a few months realise that they had a good number here have come back . We don’t seem to have an issue with it. Good drivers are hard to get and a returning driver with a good record will be welcomed back .
I left a good job once to go to a job that was 10 mins from my house, 3/4 days in I quickly realised that the new job was going to be a nightmare so a phone call to the TM with my tail between my legs I started back at my old job the following Monday.
Lesson learned.
Surprising how many left stobart biomass and came back or re applied. Who knows I might go back one day.

Sorry I forgot to ask permission[emoji6]
My first tramping job was decent, but I left for family and personal reasons. Dead easy work, decent truck and relaxed management. Not bothered once and just allowed to get on with it. The only bad thing was that they didn’t pay parking. Very relaxed and enjoyable, with no pressure at all, and an “it get’s there when it gets there” mentality from the management.
Went from being on days with a well-known firm, to tramping for another well-know firm, and what a mistake that was! Cab-hopping, cameras in cabs, and a terrible “them and us” mentality from the management. Lasted a couple of months and went elsewhere, seeking a better regime and a Monday to Friday shift. I thought it couldn’t get worse, but how wrong I was! Maxed-out hours, and a bunch of lying, cheating and deceiving phone-warriors in the transport office wanting everything delivering yesterday. Walked-out after a month, when the TM said I was “underperforming”, despite working 45 hours in three days. Obviously wasn’t enough for them.
Enjoyed supermarket deliveries the most, I should have stayed.
I did it myself. Left the flour mill to go back to tippers. It was crap and must’ve been mental but the flour was bad too. Went back to the mill after being tipped off they’d wanted me to stay, got my DCPC sorted and buggered off back tipper driving again.
The mill’s just about screwed now anyway.
Been there done that, and realised that the grass is dead just about everywhere these days
