it’s all about ‘making money’ and NOTHING ELSE, they know they stand a better chance squeezing the money out of us as we are ‘legit’ people who can be ‘chased’ for this money.
If you break into someone’s property you get arrested and fined/put in jail for trespassing, the house owner does not get fined because they did not ‘check’ that any unwanted visitors where in their house right??
they know they would never get the money off an illegal immigrant and they do not want to put them in jail as they are full as it is!
what they should do ‘if’ this was to be a fair system and their ‘real’ concern was to stop anyone who ‘tries’ to help illegal activity is to imprison you if they find GOOD evidence you have actually ‘helped’ them get in your truck or be there without being found, but this would be pretty hard to do, they would need CCTV evidence of some sort showing you opening the doors/let them in/close them…
but then that would cost them a lot of time and money to implement so why bother when they can just issue a fine on the spot?
