Hello Jonny Truckfest and ■■■■■■■■ Gill,
It has gone so ignorant these days. - Wherever you are - a camara could be watching u.
When I was lorry driving back before the 90s I had all the privacy that I wanted.
I don’t mind lorries being photographed when they parked up, but please don’t take photos
of the drivers too close when they are on the move.- give them a bit of privacy to get on with life.
regards - Hywel.

I’m on the top of a bridge can’t get much further away than that! I zoom in on the lorry, if the driver gets caught with his hands down his trousers so to speak that isn’t my problem. I try to give as much privacy as I can, normally when I get pictures the lorries are standing still most of the time drivers are keen to have their lorries pictured, I even had someone add me on facebook last week for the whole reason I got a picture of him driving his wagon so what we do can’t be that harmful. It’s not me being ignorant it’s me being honest, if drivers or anyone wants to ask why i took there picture most of the time it’s because I found the subject interesting. Most of the time I get waves and a flash of the lights even the occasional blast of the horn. But I find drivers who don’t like being photographed are those who are doing something they shouldn’t be and you’ll find most of the time you can’t even tell who the driver is on the picture. I get you with the privacy thing, but the last thing I want to do is invade a lorry drivers private life.

Cheers

Jonny :sunglasses:

You wont be seeing much more of these now they have been sold off to Paragon

Hello Stansfield
Thats actually not quite right marra. They’ve only sold the After Sales divison (Stobart Vehicle Services)
The deal doesn’t include the car transporters.

Excelent photos though Stansfield
The DAF is smart like. Belive its a s*** transporter (hence Loo - ise)
The tankers are smart. Stobarts are running 10 of these now after they bought 5 62 reg Scania G440’s.
The tanker fleet is made up of 8 Scania’s (based at Crick & Widnes) and two MAN TGS’s (based at Crick & Widnes)

Hello Legend Scania
Thats good marra. I’m glad it the right one

Yes, there are a few still knocking about in the old livery. Mainly based up at Carlisle, but I don’t think any of the subbies run any know with an old livery on.

Sure they are all under new cab wrap

The only truck I’ve seen under old paint for a long time is the drawbar at Carlisle, other than that there’s a few trailers left (and even a few Irlam’s trailers)

Hello dew
There are 4 old livery lorries in the Stobart fleet. They are:

M540 PX53 EZC Scania 4 Series Drawbar (based at Carlisle)
M542 PX53 EZE Scania 4 Series Drawbar (based at Carlisle)

H011 P11 ESL ERF EC11, which is based at Carlisle
H228 N228 XRM Scania 82M, which is based at Lillyhall.

Your right about the Stobart old livery trailers, they are mainly International trailers.

They’ve actually got shot of all the Irlam trailers now. Think they got a deal with SDC.

Won’t an N reg be a 93M not a 92? I thought series 2 production would have long finished by 1996?

Sorry dew, that was a typeing error.

Since telling you it was a 82M, a friend has told me its a Scania P113, reg N228 XRM.
Me mate has also said that its in full ESL livery and got a name, but no photos as he was driving around the ESL depot at Lillyhall.

And your right, series 2 production finished in 1996.

Hello tango boy
Excelent photos marra. Many thanks for posting them

Poor Dixon’s wagon looks fair mucky around those wheels. If I remember rightly, he had to be pulled of the Truckfest site along with many others by the W H Malcolm Mack recovery wagon.

Excelent photo Legend Scania.

Edward Stobart (RIP) would turn in his grave if he saw the state of that trailer now.
Its new owner sertainly hasn’t got the same standards as Stobarts!
