Hello Legend Scania
Yes, its the company’s specialist Training Centre, which is based currently at Southend Airport.
Since that photo was taken at Carlisle, it has been liveried up in Stobart Trainings livery.

Hello Legend Scania
As far as I know, its still in the fleet. I think it could be based at the Belgium depot.
There is still a few ‘old style’ trailers in the fleet like that one. They are mainly ICT (International Can Trailer), FDD (Fridge Double Decker) & WF (Walking Floor) trailers.
Hope this helps Legend Scania

Cheers lad

There were two international deckers. Both retired from service due to changes in how the naafi job runs.

Hello JB
Thankyou for that info marra. I didn’t know that they’ve been retired from service
But, the old style Walking Floors and Irish Can Trailers are still running about because I saw one of each yesterday

mark h, ‘marra’ is West ■■■■■■■■ dialect for ‘mate’. Its mainly used in the Aspatria, Maryport & Workington area, but its used more in Maryport than anywhere else. I only use it to add a bit of local dialet and regionality into my posts. I hope this clears this up marra!

Hello everyone
Thankyou to dew, truckfing & Legend Scania for your posts.
dew, yes it is a Jenkinsons Chipliner but truckfing, it isn’t an ex Jenkinsons. The trailer is used on the Biomass runs out of Lockerbie under the Stobart Biomass partnership, which sees Jenkinsons & Stobarts trailers been hauled by both companies.
Legend Scania, Yes, thats right. Stobarts own 50% and Jenkinsons own 50%, but there has been talk of Stobarts buying Jenkinsons 50%.

Bit of a rarity seeing one in the old knauf livery. Was this the one from Ridham? I worked out of knauf and had a blue artic P433 or may have been P443(H433/H443 fleet number) and ran out of Ridham in the early to mid 90s. I have no photos but would be interested if anyone does have some from that time

Hello m1tch
Thankyou for your interesting post marra. No, the photo of P748 FAO that truckfing posted was based out of Carlisle and worked hauling Knuaf plasterboard out of the North East factory.
I might be able to help you with the photos of the two lorries who’s fleet numbers you’ve posted. I’ll have a ratch amongst my photos and if I have, I’ll post them for you
