The DUFF argument at Ransomes Europark, Ipswich

The company that charges £300 for stopping on this industrial estate argued that he should be able to gain details from the DVLA for vehicles stopping on this industrial estate.

The DVLA said no, and Mr Duff wasn’t too happy, he took it all the way to a Judicial Review and today judgement was handed down saying that he is not allowed keeper details from the DVLA as he is not a member of an ATA.

So as well as a big headache and a huge costs claim, this cowboy operation has come to an end, although they will probably still issue tickets and if the driver contacts him or if the vehicle is sign written then he probably will try his luck, which to be honest, is wearing pretty thin.

Had to post separately as my phone does not like long posts in this forum.

This is the same industrial estate where a number of tickets were issued against one haulier and they went to court with the RHA representing them, and the haulage company LOST.

Obviously now the story is totally different as the Secretary of state has ruled this to be unlawful

Hopefully the haulage firm that lost will now be able to get their losses back, at least the RHA bothered to get involved in this case even if the result wasn’t the right one. It is about time the RHA earned their money and started taking on more cases like this

I doubt it will go to appeal, but never say never.
